New MKX Gameplay Preview Video From German Magazine PCGames.de

I seem to notice that there is no real emphasis on any scrubby wake up mechanic in this game. That along with the trades, lack of P1 advantage, and all of the other shortcomings that MK9 had is keeping my interest. (along with 60 FPS of course :))

i just want to point out that twice in the game play video scorpion seemed to have done a d3, or d4 into a special, and from what i gathered the opponent was competent enough to block. so if d3's are all lows that means a lot of the cast will have low combo starters, and from what i've seen all of the characters look to have atleast one overhead launcher as well. so guess what MK fanboys that cried about flash, or specifically 50/50 in INJ.

And those Kotal Kahn (Blood God) combos :) Dropping a totem down in the middle of a combo... hell yeah

Calling it now...every character in this game will be tournament viable.

I know this is an obvious stretch.....but I just can't see any ONE character shutting down another character's THREE variations.

That would take a horrendous kind of bad luck.

exactly my point, in the video scorpion cleary does a d3,d4 into his trait hell fire thing then combos, that shit was hella quick. with the way the movement is in this game i will be very surpised to see -on block pokes again, but if it is the same with MK9 and - on block pokes and their is counter poking then its just more depth tbh. now that you can't dash cancel, having + frame pokes makes more sense unless you run cancel, because in MK9 if you have a d1 that wasn't - on block you could just poke infinite because of dash canceling. anyway INJ haters prepare yourselves.

Speaker 2: i was able to see some gameplay and sadly gotta say im a bit disappointed. i hoped for a bit more but this seems like a mix between the predecessor and injustice.
Speaker 1: so game mechanics are more old-school, kinda fast but not as tactical
Speaker 2: exactly. i couldnt play but all the stiff Combos as seen, background elements you can use as weapon or swing from branch to branch, thats all stuff thats in injustice and pro players wont like it

Speaker 2: not really. you can pick from three fighting styles before a fight now. so you can use one move against a certain opponent while against another a differnet style is better. but its sad you cant change it during the fight but only before

Speaker 1: graphics wise its ok but not stunning, judging by the fact its supposed to be next gen. Backgrounds are quite nice but of course kinda artificial again. and of course, as usual in mk...

Speaker 1: ...disgusting stuff. the americans of course are happy about it, it belongs there, the finishing moves. whoever needs it, i think its unnecessary, and pretty disgunsting most of the time

Speaker 1: we europeans dont think thats ok (<-with kinda ironic voice) and close with the words: meh, its a mortal kombat, kinda entertaining for beat em up-fans, a bit of button mashing, but not more

Yeah, this was just the first time I noticed the animation. I'm curious as to what that is.
Too lazy to read thread but it's a part of some interactables. Basically some of them if you land the first hit, it will go into an x-ray for subsequent hits. I doubt they're doing the same kind of damage as "traditional" x-rays but it's just a neat little feature they added to my understanding. I'm not sure if that's a meter burn extension or something, I kind of think it's just a regular part of the vanilla interactable though.

Is that what those knee high glowing Weiner's coming out of the ground are? What do they do? And I see him throw up this spirally shield, is that a parry or a charge of some sort? Because if it is a parry its sure as shit short on active frames, and if its a charge, the player isn't using it right lol.
