I wanna learn her...does anyone recommend one variation over another?
Which is the easiest to learn?
Which is the best and why?

Covert Ops Sonya Blade is by far the easiest and most effective Sonya overall. Easy hit-confirms, easy combos, easy mixups.I wanna learn her...does anyone recommend one variation over another?

Easiest is by far covert ops. Just simple hitconfirms and offense. Best, we don't really know yet, but people have been talking about Special Forces a lot. They really all need to be explored way more before we even have an idea.I wanna learn her...does anyone recommend one variation over another?

Honestly, I dont think she is heavy execution but thats a matter of perceptionSonya has got to be one of the best chars in the game (she doesn't even need garrote and its mad strong ), but her execution creep in C.ops seems like it could be a problem under grand finals stress. (lol)
She gets 2 chances for a 50/50 combo into jump in, but you gotta hit a lot of buttons for that %31. The only thing keeping me from going all in.
She is hard for me.....lol...no clue why either.Honestly, I dont think she is heavy execution but thats a matter of perception
I guess its just the character...I know players that can do balrog combos in sf4 but can't do srk fadc ultra 1 with ryu so I guess it's just watever you are used too lolShe is hard for me.....lol...no clue why either.
Are you rushing your inputs? That's sometimes a huge hindering factor and I find with Sonya you don't have to rush her strings cancelled into MS options. I bet if you mentally slow down it'll come to you much easier .She is hard for me.....lol...no clue why either.

That setup isnt too bad...Granted if you press MS1 too early and the opponent gets hit by the d3, then the throw whiffs. And if you do when they block, they can literally mash d1/d3 to escape that option. But good thing, you can condition people to react a specific way so you can easily land that on people if you do it correctlyMy current Sonya strategy (Covert Ops)
d3 ~ Military Stance ~ Throw
This is one of those things that I use all the time, but think to myself "Why does this even work??"
Sonya has among the fastest runs in the game...... Don't cancel your run. Run to the other side and let them whiff their neutral jump move. Then do a b1, or b3 to trip guard into free vortex. Also, right now, I'm having a bit of an issue with running. Though I can definitely do without it anyway.
It feels like the universally easy way to completely blow up run is neutral jumping. When I was playing Kotal Kahn, he had a ton of great high-vertical hitbox moves that he could do out of run catch such attempted jneutral jumps.
But with Sonya I haven't really found anything to do out of run to deal with the neutral jump counter. So I'm sticking more to just dashing and walking in.

It doesnt counter jump insSonya's Garrote Parry (Covert Op's):
It is used to counter high attacks.
Does it counter jump in's?
Does it counter special moves (Goro's air drop, Kung Lao/Sonya dive kicks, etc...)
Does it counter high hitting physical (non-projectile) X-Ray starters?
I apologize for my simple question, however I do not trust to use the mechanic online since the delay input is unforgiving and will get you blown up with a quickness!
Thanks very much sirIt doesnt counter jump ins
It counters special moves but it does lose to Sonya's dive kicks, Goro's air drop
It doesn't counter x-rays but your xray can counter their xray. Her xray beats out Goro's air drop
I think you are undervaluing that parry....It parries, highs, mids, overheads, throws and physically hitting special moves...That's pretty much everything in the game outside of jumping attacks, lows and projectiles....Not only that but like you mentioned, if you guess right with the meter burn, you net >35% in a combo and you can push your opponent into the corner or get yourself out of it...That's pretty good if you ask meThat's probably the most disappointing thing for me so far. I mained CSZ and Sonya in MK9 and I was so happy when Sonya's dive kick was long range (and still leads into combo, and is overhead), and I saw she had a parry. Was almost like they merged my mains into one. But Garrote Parry is sooo situational. It doesn't activate the moment it's inputed so it can be stuffed, it only parries high hitting attacks, no jumps or lows. It just kinda seems lackluster. I wish the meter burn version would at least parry jumps, that would allow Sonya a good AA option and an opportunity for more than 30% damage. Can't really bitch though, I love everything else about her.
