I don't believe that Fallout is underrated. Fallout one or two, hell maybe even NV, but not Fallout 3 or 4. If anything, Fallout 4 is massively overrated so far. People are going nuts, acting like this is going to be the game of the goddamn decade, when really it doesn't even look that amazing to me. I'm sure it'll be a fun game to turn your brain off for a couple hours while playing it but I doubt this is going to revolutionize anything.
Yea I can agree with this. I think the series as a whole is. Like when you hear of "elite" games is seems to be forgotten. I'm more hype to have a new Fallout more than anything, but it might not live up to NV which there I thought was underrated. F4 might have fallen victim to the "dumb it down" trend that a lot of games are jumping on these days.

Agreed. I feel like Bethesda will never be able to surpass New Vegas honestly. The sad part is I believe that Bethesda actually thinks that Fallout 3 is a superior game to New Vegas, which is hilarious. It's like they didn't even take away anything from New Vegas as a whole, they just went ahead and made it more like FO3 than anything. I get that they have their own ideas for the franchise and they have a vision of what they want it to be, but that vision is not what Fallout is imo.

What makes you guys feel like it's been dumbed down? They seemed to have expanded on some of the RPG aspects and all this crafting seems much more extensive than before. There's settlements you can build yourself and combat feels a lot better this time.

Can't really say too much about NV, I did play it but not at all long enough. Don't even remember much about it.

Fallout 4 – Launch and Beyond
After many long years, Fallout 4 is entering its final months of development. We've put so much into it for so long; we can’t believe it’s almost done. The game will soon be out of our hands and into yours. There’s so much there that we haven’t talked about or spoiled, because we want you to discover it, to make it your own.

It's during this stage of development that we start thinking about how we'll support Fallout 4 after launch. We wanted to give you a taste of what we plan on doing:

Regular Updates
We'll be doing regular free updates to the game, and like Skyrim, these will come with not just fixes, but new features. For Skyrim we added things like mounted combat, legendary mode, kill cams, visual enhancements and more. We’ll work with all of you to figure out what new things you’d love to see added to Fallout 4, whether they are small tweaks or new features.

Mods & Creation Kit
The most important thing in our games is the freedom you have to create your own experience, and modding is a big part of that. Like all our previous games, we’ve made sure to keep Fallout 4 open and moddable at every step in development. Early next year we’ll release for free the new Creation Kit for the PC. This is the same tool we use in the studio. You'll be able to create your own mods and share them with others. We’re especially excited these same mods will then be coming to Xbox One, and then PlayStation 4.

Downloadable Content
We've always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more. To reward our most loyal fans, this time we’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30. Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass.

Thanks again to all of you! The support and excitement you’ve given Fallout 4 has blown us away. It’s energized us even more to do everything we can in these final months to make this our best game yet. We absolutely can't wait for you to play it, and share your adventures with us and each other.

Man, say what you will about Bethesda, but they are absolutely fantastic at supporting their games, communicating with the people who play/mod their games and providing extra content for a reasonable price. FUCK season passes that don't cover all DLC releases...

Hmm...never thought I'd see these words. Why can't they just be expansion passes? Lol. I'd rather have an expansion pass than a Season Pass.

What? Customizing your own fucking wasteland towns is gonna be so cool imo.

I completely agree... Fallout is at the top of my list of "elite" games. But for some reason, it's always kinda forgotten...

I absolutely love FO3 and NV. Though, I prefer NV for sure.

I can't wait for my baby <3. I'm just not sure if I should get it on ps4 or pc lol
PC for Mods (Bethesda still hasn't said how mods will work on console in terms of free or paid, so you can make your own mods if you wish), or PS4 if you just want something convenient and don't have to troubleshoot. I'm sure it'll come out mostly working.

PS4 is getting the mods last so...

And I'm pretty sure they said somewhere that mods will be free.

What makes you guys feel like it's been dumbed down?
-DogMeat is a game long companion that cannot die.
-New watered down uses with dog will be noobish being that it removes what used to be tougher with "he cannot die" dog.
-The removal of Skill Points.
-The merging of Skill attributes into other categories. (Ex: No more sneaking Skill because it is one of the Skills merged with Agility now).
-Perk Level Up system is simply Gun Level 1, Gun Level 2, etc at its core.
-The new Dialogue Option system having simplified user responses with direct results for each one across the board. (Ex: Nice always gives nice back, mean returns mean, neutral returns neutral, etc). Isn't unique anymore, now you're just filling in what two word option to click for the correct response. Likely the worst change of all.
-Etc.

Still think it'll be a cool game, but a clear and blatant watered down version to do what all the games this generation are doing. Appealing to the casuals.

Been playing a mod called FWE/FSE or something on F3 and it's convincing me that a skill point system with limited points per lvl is the best. Like 4 base and + 1 per int.

Gotcha. Yeah I guess it has been dumbed down. Apart from immortal Dogmeat I personally don't mind it too much though.

I agree with most of this list, but the voiced character. Vastly prefer that to mute characters with paragraph responses. And it's not like your character just says the two words that are on the dialogue wheel. lol

I hate the dumbing down of the level up system though. Hated it in skyrim, hate it now.
