For those who DID download the "new" patch and booted the game, your live/cloud save is likely blank now, hopefully you have a backup from pre-patch.

The game itself should now have returned to the same state it was in before the first patch dropped today. Hopefully they'll tweak the save game issue and put the "new-new" patch out again soon.

They should. I've run the game anyway and it's for me as was. I've cancelled downloading first patch somewhere at 60%, restarted Steam and didn't have to use my back up save data. So if you haven't downloaded the patch, most likely your game will be as you left it.

With HVS doing the last gen ports as well this doesn't instill much confidence. Thinking about just saving up for a PS4 and just stick to playing MKX at friends houses and my brothers for the time being.

I'm pretty sure the entire HVS team is just one guy. His office space is in the back of a dirty van, where he sits in a drug-fueled rage, enacting vengeance on society one 15gb patch at a time.

I dislike consoles but that's a personal opinion and I don't shove it in console players' face.
I also dislike people who do this master race bullshit obnoxiously.

But yes, I likely won't have my money back at this point and I kinda want mkx to actually work. So here's to hoping.

I feel your pain. I wish I never had to buy a console, but I do for fighting games because this stuff always happens or the community dwindles quickly. It's a shame. I want everything on one platform.

Well, MK9 port was broken since the start too and they never fixed the online problem with it. I'm not keeping my hopes too high with this patch on PC.

Yeah PC gaming isnt for me (except using it for emulators for 8/16 bit games :D) but to each there own.

All hardware fanboyism is retarded. We're all gamers, everyone just needs to get along *Michael Jacksons heal the world starts playing*

No, just don't launch the game at any cost now, or it will erase your save forever.
Make a back up if it is not too late, save game is located at :

Steam => Userdate=> number => 307780

Download the new 2nd update that will just bring back the previous one.
Then your save game should still be there.
If it is not, your back up will work.

BUT if you have no back up, or started the game after 1st patch before making it, it is probably too late.
Your saved game will be erased and saved on cloud as a cleared one.

Lol, you can't make this shit up.

No wonder there's such a lack of players when it comes to fighting games on the PC, and this is coming from a primarily PC gamer. I was hoping with the supposed impressive sales of MK9 on PC that they'd take the time to not fuck up the PC version of MKX, but it seems like they're just trying to outdo themselves on that end.

I was able to stop the download, but I think if you downloaded the patch, you should get another patch of the same size (which is actually the old version). Don't know about your userdata, it may or may not be gone, might depend on if you've started the game with the patch or not.
