"House Divided" speech. Can we stop this madness of region hate?

Mr. President and Gentlemen of the Convention.
If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could then better judge what to do, and how to do it.

We are now far into the first year, since a patch was initiated, with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to an imbalance game and putting together a community.

Under the operation of that patch, that agitation has not only, not ceased, but has constantly russled.

In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and our loving game has passed.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
I believe this community cannot endure, permanently half east and half west.
I do not expect the east to be dissolved -- I do not expect the west to fall-- but I do expect it will cease to be divided.

It will become all one thing or all the other.

Either the opponents of the east , will arrest the further spread of east coast tournaments, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it's tendencies shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new -- East as well as West

Have we no tendency to the latter condition?

Let any one who doubts, Carefully contemplate where we are going as a whole. We're trotting down a road of darkness and confusion. We are separating ourselves thin and scarce instead of coming together strong, for what? Why? Because of what side of the country we were born in? because of petty rivalries and actions? We all want the same thing, decent tournament standards and the growth of our passion and community. Now what those standards are, we may never agree on, but one thing I am sure of, we will never move forward for the better if we keep bickering and casting stones at one another simply because of the actions of a few parties. Please move on and give chances to more and to those who havent wronged.
A new era found the ruling at final round unjust by the midwest and pig of the hut. I am not here to deny the crimes that were done that day. Shin Blanka's last minute decision was a wrongful doing to the name and house of the hut. If Shin blanka did not want to obey the "killer pools" act that punished players who registered on the spot, he should not have passed the act in the first place. Shin Blanka should have initiated his intentions from the start, but it seemed that he got caught up in the moment, and wanted to please everyone, which in reality one CANNOT do.

However, this is a business, and shin blanka realized this would hurt his business and made a decision that would allow last minute players to come to the tournament without facing immense repercussions. The only problem was that it was too late to realize his mistake.

Not a day later, commenced the struggle, which ended in questioning the organization that was running final round.

This opened all the national territory to mockery and stone casting, labeling an entire coast and it's supporters responsible. Some decided to stand up for the region and organization they believed in, and others stood quietly as shame and guilt consumed them. This was a start of a new war that pitted folks, whom were once called country-men and allies, against each other. A war that can only end in ruins.

East coast majors came and went, now we're in the period where there are none until after MLG and EVO which can provide the grandest stage and exposure for our game.

UFGT is upon us and a drastic ruling was made, but without the voice from the mid west compromising its integrity because of the region it lies in, instead more mockery was directed at the east coast as a whole. And then even more stones and assumptions are thrown back by the east, which doesnt leave anyone without blood on their hands. By resorting to the actions that were done at final round, we are just digging a deeper hole of despair in which there is only one true victim, our game "Injustice:Gods Among Us" The UFGT series is on it's last limb, and instead of blaming keits for everything and calling his decision a crime, we should learn from this. We can learn to read the fine print, and Tournament Organizers can learn that the vast majority who didn't read it before will do so now, so they won't be able to get away with putting wrongful content in there.

If we want the promise of this game and the wealth of our passion to prosper, we need to join our forces and become one again. I'm not asking for the reissuing of the "new leaf" policy, but I am asking for everyone cooperation. This problem is MUCH bigger than sparing the feelings of some players. Together we have often dreamed of becoming main stream, being brought to the public eye for entertainment, and most importantly, for wealthy payouts and prosperity for doing what we love to do. But in a world where we can't come together and move past final round and the judgement placed on it, where we can't move past UFGT and its fine print policy, I don't see our dreams becoming a reality.

What is it that these regions desire? What will it take to make amends and move past all this? If the answer to this question is not established, time will run out, and our hopes and dreams will expire. I'm not here to talk on behalf of any organization, or even on the behalf of any region. What I am today, and everyday, is an active admirer and supporter of this game, who does not wish to see it crumble before his eyes, as I know many of you don't wish to either. Let us stop the burning and put out this fire.
I believe together we can rise above the ashes we have created so far and emerge stronger and more powerful.
The result is not doubtful. We shall not fail -- if we stand firm, we shall not fail.
Wise councils may accelerate or mistakes delay it, but, sooner or later the victory is sure to come.

TLDR:
Look guys, in plain english,
1) not here to install a new "new leaf" policy

2) I don't hate hype or rivalry

3) This hate has gotten to the point where key members of the community have made a campaign against a region and stopped supporting its tournaments.

4) What good are rivalries if regions decide not to show up somewhere?

5) By not moving past these events that has happened, and by calling each other names and tarnishing each other's name and reputation, we are going to divide our amazing resources until our dreams and hopes come crashing down.

6) We need to Unite again (this doesnt mean kiss each others ass's or say EVERYONE's the BEST! this means to support each other's scenes. )

i dont agree.

i think the community being divided and all regions hating each other is hype.

stop trying to bring back forms of the "new leaf "

maybe some of you need to take a break from a competitive environment if you cant take the heat

Unfortunately this will be overlooked in the scene for the sake of "hype".

Sure rivalries can be fun, but can we keep at least some of level of respect for each scene?

People forget that we're still one of the smaller scenes in terms of fanbase and offline support.

When people look towards us and see us at each others' throats, it doesn't make for an inviting look.

no one really cares about respect. thats not what pros play videos games for. the only thing that matters at the end of the day is getting that win. so talk shit and have some fun along the way.

remember this is a "fighting" game community...

I never said get rid of the shit talk or hype. It's keeping the respect for the other's skill. For all the props fishing in the scene, the top players almost never seem to openly give props.

I've seen so many threads like "The game is unbalanced," "This isn't fair," or my personal favorite 'You're all losers because if I can't adapt to this, you can't,' and along with these threads are the classical rebuttals of "The game is balanced," "Grow up," and "You're making the community look bad."

But this? This is just so ceremonious and matter of fact. Plus you quoted Lincoln.

I just don't fucking know anymore :DOGE
