I dont think its an easy fix, because doing what you describe would make doing EX moves and xrays not possible. It would probably be a bit more involved.I despise this kind of thing.
If you are taking the risk to do a frame perfect poke in between pressure it should be just that, a RISK. You should not be able to mash a fast poke while still blocking. Also frame perfect pokes/special reversals should require timing and practice, not inputting the move while still being able to block. If we want our game to require high level skill and execution and to reward the players who put in time to learn to nail gaps/just frame punishes we should not be happy about this find. Hopefully NRS will address this in a patch making you be forced to release block for these pokes/specials to come out. I have faith that they will because it is clear they want this game to have a massive tournament following with ESL and whatnot.
Dude, it's not like you're invincible while the poke is coming out. It can still get blocked and punished. Or they can go for something else knowing you're trying to poke out. This doesn't change meta at all. This just won't allow people to do shit similar to Kabal's 2~ndc over and over again on high hitbox characters.I despise this kind of thing.

Hmm, I just don't think you should be able to poke a string with a gap in it for free with no risk. It makes those strings automatically uselessI dont think its an easy fix, because doing what you describe would make doing EX moves and xrays not possible. It would probably be a bit more involved.
It's not no-risk per-se, you're gambling that the gap in the blockstring is larger than the startup of your poke.Hmm, I just don't think you should be able to poke a string with a gap in it for free with no risk. It makes those strings automatically useless
But if you know what the gap in the string is and you know your fast poke is faster it would pretty much be a guarantee right? It's not no-risk per-se, you're gambling that the gap in the blockstring is larger than the startup of your poke.
Ofc it's not as easy to put intentionally small gaps in blockstrings in this game...
If you dont mind, Ill probably copy paste some of the info in your OP so that I dont have to type it all upLooks like I am the bigger masher!
You must haven't play Street Fighter 4 huh?I despise this kind of thing.

That's a really good pointI don't think this is true.
You can't say it takes away from the skill of the game to be able to punish easier, if you don't also accept it takes away from the skill of the game to be able to get away with using unsafe moves more often.
It doesn't remove an aggregate of skill from the game, it just changes where the skill is being demanded. In this case, punishing is easier, but throwing out unsafe moves and trying to go with impunity is more difficult.
