Question - Summoner What improvements would you like to see with summoner for kp2?

Anyway, to try and salvage something from this trainwreck, if the nerfs I've suggested were implemented, I think Quan Chi would be fine. Still very good, very strong, but with more holes in his gameplay.

Sorcerer doesn't need to be touched imo, neither does Warlock.

I've got a top 8 placing, and I have my first regional in 2 weeks here. But this thread is about quan buffs not tournament placings. Please add the buffs you would like to see or stopderailing the thread :)

Fair Quan Chi Nerfs:

Remove B2 pop-up.
Return autoblock after Skulls on hit.


(The above is how he's getting a lot of the ridiculous damage and unbreakable crap)


Increase the frames where an OH/Low hit from just a single frame, to 5 frames.

(Explanation: In MKX, if a low and an OH hit at the same time, one will be changed to mid. I propose that you take this property and extend it by 5 frames. All 1-frame blocks and pseudo-unblockables would be removed, Quan's mix ups would be easier to block, and he still keeps low bat. Fair. Balanced.)

These would address 90% of the Quan tearing.
This is all he needs, nothing else he has is unfair for a character who has one less threat during pressure than other characters

Just no, on both. I would absolutely love D1 buffs for Warlock it's practically the only hole in his entire game, but it would make Summoner fucking ridiculous and to be honest probably Warlock too. Enough frames to give him a mixup? Sheesh he would be even stronger than before even with your nerfs. That's ridiculous. As for his reversal, it's fast , advancing, low hitting and you can already convert for over 60% damage if you are cornered by your opponent and have the meter for it, AND it gives you the corner. It really does NOT need to be safe as well or it's simply mindless.
Agreed, the low reversal is perfect how it is, the only problem is that when you're knocked down in the corner your opponent can just neutral jump kick you every time and your wakeup won't connect, so it's basically useless in that case if I'm not mistaken. The portal stab has armor and is completely safe, but you can't use it either because the tracking on it sucks, it whiffs on female hitboxes, and the startup is too slow for it to hit before the opponent lands back on the ground with time to block it. They just need to improve the tracking on portal stab and decrease the startup by like 6 frames or so, then Warlock will be pretty much perfect, although I might argue he needs a slight universal damage nerf.

Quite a few, and I believe only 2 top 3 placings. That's unacceptable
And how many top 8 placings? If you seriously think that a character needs an assload of top 3 placings just to be viable, that is kind of a problem, hell him even getting top 3 shows a lot, hell lasher has maybe 1 top 8 placing and that was along side a side character, and I think he is VERY viable, quan on the other hand almost always has at least 1 person in top 8 with him at any given tournament, I don't think he is the next character in the game by any means, his defense prevents him from being broken. Hell on my personal tier lost quan is number 6, but I digress, just because a character made only 2 or 3 top 3 placings doesn't mean that character should be buffed or needs help, if anything the opposite is true since there hasn't been a huge amount of majors yet compared to other games since mkx is still relatively young. Hell it is insanely impressive how many top 3 placings he has because of how balanced the game has turned out to be, a good 7/8ths of the cast is viable and has the potential to win with only a couple of characters that have no chance. Basically to sum up, be happy with what you have because you got a damn fine character on your hands which you deserve for being loyal to quan Chi through thick and thin throughout the years.

Change B2 to a mid. Make D1 8 frames, hit advantage 11, -7 on block. Low Scoop -6 on block, Ex Low Scoop -21 on block. Warlock is my main, I would like to see these changes to him, personally. I have many more, but they'd interfere with the other two variations which I don't won't to see changed apart from the dumb shit we all know and love.

Just like the last one was before he got ridiculous buffs in the first place? There becomes a point where it's not harmless trolling anymore and it's just actively hurting the game.

A hitbox fix might be nice, that being said I'm pretty sure if they end with enough advantage for a full NjK that it costs a lot of characters some damage, and a NjK low enough to be plus means the armour connects I think. Worst case is you take a point of chip and just reversal the NjK instead of going for flat wake up

I'd love to see this. Makes everything usable, he's punishable where he should be. I don't think his D1 needs to be 8 frMes though, if he's sacrificing his overhead starter and doesn't get a 50/50 off his D1 it's ok to keep it fast IMO

I hate watching people coinflip their way through my health bar and meter.
Believe me, so do I. That's why it's that much more satisfying when you knock him on his ass and give him a taste of his own medicine (feeling completely helpless to your onslaught, not necessarily a slew of 50/50s).

Yeah, I know people will disagree, and I only want this as a change to Warlock(new animation, won't happen but w/e). A 6 frame D1 means nothing to me at +3 on hit. I'd rather the slower start up for the pressure in return.
