It is, it's also a little inconsistent at the "almost in range, to in range" distance as the string moves.
yup, so weird. also seems that b21 is catching alot more people trying to jump over the whips now. loving the jump in whips to but its hard to combo after them at further range.

the safe tornado kick is great. i yolo those all the time and now don't have to eat a full combo. anyone see the glitch in takedas victory pose where one of the whips doesnt come out?

I tried to throw a yo-yo away. It was impossible.
I just wanted to make sure this was known, but the new air attack can be used

I never noticed that. I just know the whips glitch and are shorter after you do the new jump attack. Doesn't affect the range I don't believe, just a cosmetic thing.

You can combo the jump in whips with b1,1 into specials.... still playing with it, it is not a true block string but the frames are generous enough that you can hit confirm before imputing b1 to keep you pretty safe.

Df1 for me usually. Others use bf2. Tornado kick if you can for a hard knock down.
I'll do bf2 mid screen and df1 if i am i can get the opponent from mid screen to the corner because I can do another d1 xx db2 for more damage.

Example: Bnb B21 xx exBF2, njp, 44 xx bf2 in mid screen. If I am close to the corner I'll do 44 xx df1, d1 xx db2.

If someone can master the spacing and utilizing the new jump in to its full potential lasher seems pretty scary.
The new jump in is garbage in my experience, hits mid 90% of the time instead of OH, defeats the purpose of JI on crouch blocking opponents, might as well just go b21 on them instead and keep your spacing advantage rather than fail a jip44 attempt and get wrecked for it.

I find the new jump punch works better while jumping backwards to keep space. Jumping forward doesn't give you much advantage for the reasons you said and you can't really do anything when you do connect. I kind of think of the move as a mid air poke.

EDIT:
Also, make sure you jump in with 2 instead of 1. More advantage on hit which will lead to b1 and b2 combo-ing, even when you use the move jumping backwards (from like right up on the opponent) or jumping in from distance. Jumping in from distance always seems to put you in b1 range whereas jumping back from as close as possible only will put you in b1 range if you hit. You're always in b2 range.
