I play fighting games online since T5DR (one of the first) and I think I have some expertise when it comes to online play experience and knowledge.
For me, netcode is THE most important part for a competitive game and especially in the case of VFUS, this game does not offer offline content.
Sorry but MKX did after almost one year a rollback netcode and this made the game awesome to play online. They didn't need to do it, they could have waited for Injustice 2 but they did ... I will always remember such nice customer moves. (FUCK greedy business models! Especially with big lies! "It runs great on ps4" hahaha, get fucked by Sony! Your reputation will suffer big times on those asshole moves! ...)
So to get back to VF, I really don't understand the "no time" argue, this game was not on anyone's radar and they just announced it out of nowhere. VFFS is so old, it wouldn't have mattered if the game had been released 5 months later because no one knew anyways.
And to make the "complaining" group even bigger, they didn't add a ping nor a Wi-Fi indicator in 2021. No, that is not acceptable anymore, no matter how big your fan-glasses are.
I played 200 online matches in VFUS and the netcode is ok but dated and not state of technology.
I keep putting my time into MK11 and Tekken7. (lately only MK11 actually)
And I like the VF franchise but so many in the FG community think complaining=hater. THAT IS SO EXTREME STUPID! I always see "complaining" as free feedback ... hear it or ignore it BUT don't try to shut "our" mouth, won't work! (This "free" argue is also big times lacking, we live in a time, where f2p is common and Sony will pay Sega with the ps+ money, in fact they paid them for exclusive too)
Imagine all the popular competitive online games had shitty netplay. NO MATTER how good the content would be, it would DIE! (Lol,R6S,CS,Dota,Fortnite,CoD etc.)
I am at least very happy that Maximilian keeps real and also says people should not stop talking about the netcode/rollback. He is not crazy lost in his FAN VISION!
Netcode is the heart of any competitive fighting game, period.
Developers not investing all the time on good netcode, just want the fast money but they won't create a future playerbase. But this is the key for a competitive model.
ps: The matchmaking in VF is in its current state, also terrible.

Extra note, I am a huge Tekken fan but when they released Tekken7 on ps4, it had shitty netplay and I didn't hided it, only because I love the franchise. (playing it now on PC after many netcode updates is great tho - I DECLINE you all @Wi-Fi-Warriors!) You think they would have tuned the netcode if no one would have "complained"? Don't be stupid, they wouldn't.
