I have been playing Ares since Injustice first launched and if there is one thing I know, its that being invisible makes Ares hard as hell to block. Besides his great corner shenanigans, I have noticed that even the best of Ares players don't use mb invisibility midscreen. Since we don't have a thread specifically for midscreen invisibility, I decided to start one up! If anyone has more stuff to add plz do!
First off, invisible setups after an overhead. Even though Ares doesn't have a fast overhead, he does have great options after it. First, b23 , d2 ,mb invisibility, f23, mixup. Since a large percent of Ares's resets come after a f23 in someway, this set up is perfect if you notice your opponent falling for those pesky wake up mb godsmacks and teleport set ups. You can also do d3 after the mb invisibility for a hard knockdown if you think they wont wake up. For damage (mainly while invisible), I love to tdc the ax and jump forward after the f23 for a quick cross up.
I don't remember who created this but I will say thank you! This set up is pure gold when someone is blocking your b23 and b2d4. The inputs are b21, mb invisible, d1d4. This is a frame trap so use anytime when u think your opponent will make a move. You can also do b2d4 for an overhead ,but its not a block so be careful.
The base of this setup was posted by Dislexsik on the quick stand thread. (Thanks InFlames! Glad you found this quick stand stuff) The inputs are d1d4, j2, b23, d2, mb invisibility, d2, mb godsmack (normal version). This set up is extremely dangerous if your opponent cant clash. It does use two meter(two and a fourth if u want the godsmack combo after), but if they don't stop the quick stand you are guaranteed one invisible mix up after the almost 60 percent. If the invisible mixup hits and you have meter for the godsmack combo, you can do ridiculous damage!
( P.s. the tdc ax into crossup is mean while invisible, that's my go to thing until my opponent blocks it lol! )
