Noob Cyrax question

Sorry if this is a bit misplaced, but I've been a fan of Cyrax since I was a kid, but never played him. As of a few nights ago, I resolved to learn how to play him finnaly (couldn't resist any longer) and I have a question. How exactly do Cyrax's resets work? I have no interest in using them, but is there any difference between bomb traps and resets? I mean, if I do something like 1,2,1 medium bomb then net after a combo leading into a net isn't it sort of a reset in and of itself? If they jump the bomb and get netted? Again, sorry for my ignorance on this subject.

A true reset cannot be escaped, or is extremely hard to escape (only a wake up attack or x-ray escapes the set up and the time window to do it is extremely small)

A bomb trap could or could not be a reset. A bomb trap is basically a setup with bombs, you force your opp into a situation where they have to realize they are being set up and escape or eat the bomb. For example if you connect:

1,2,1,ff4 - 2,2

If the opp blocks after you launched the bomb you push them into it with the 2,2. But if they start hitting you or crossover jump you after you launch the bomb they do not. This is a very simple (and not very good) bomb trap or bomb setup.

If you do 1,2,1,ff4 - net like you said, if they block after the ff4 they simply block your net and the bomb ends up exploding behind them without affecting them.
