I play a really good reptile player that abuses elbow alot and it really is a tough match for jade....does anyone have any vids on how to deal against the running reptile dash?
You mean the 5 frame full screen that is practically safe on block? Scoff.
First thing first:
FOR
GET
JUM
PING
against Reptile. Unless you njp him.
First version: 12 shadow kick, Low boomerang, dash, 3db2 into combo.
Second version: 4 staffgrab, block to wait for him to come and 12 shadowkick scenario.
Third version: Lots of low boomerangs from a distance where he can't jump in to combo you.
Fourth version: Ex glow into a combo
Fifth version: Ex kick to corner him and then try to keep him there. Won't be easy.
The point of punishing his dash at all is to have him give up on using it. If he keeps waking up with it and using it to cover distance but he keeps getting boomerang'd, combo'd and generally it just makes him take damage when he uses it, he'll start being more cautious about it. Reptile's best place on the map is right next to you. His attacks are slow startup no matter how powerful, and if you can control his orb/dash game, you've taken away all his toys and it's time to play YOUR game.
You go, girl!
how do you guys feel about the kano matchup?
Erh. Only fought ONE good kano. The rest get zoned horribly, so it's not my place to say. But you can glow through knives and boomerang the pants off of the happy online spammers.
You lied to me. You have never played a good Kenshi if you are saying things like this. Either that, or you are a great troller. If that is the case, well done. Not only does what you just typed not work on a good Kenshi player, but it won't work on a human being with a pulse
Or you aren't doing it right. It works wonderfully. Jade is not a character you can learn overnight, just because you failed for the first few tries it doesn't mean you should hatepost me. Scoff. I played her more than Krayzie did lately, so I definitely know what I'm talking about.
Completely Jaded is biggest troll on the Jade forums. If you think this is bad, you should have seen his suggestions in the original Jade patching thread.
Actually, you beat me with a nose length. When admins agree with me that you beat ME to being the case of an angry nerd, you know you need to change your posting style.
At least my complaints have merit. Yours have what exactly? Scoff.
Kenshi match breakdown:
You alternate between Rushdown and Scram. You do this so he will need to move around a lot, running into boomerang traps and footsweep wakeup game (EX Overhead ONLY, normal overhead is beaten out by wakeup charge.)
- Dash or jump? If you predict that he will use a straight spirit move, you jump over and position yourself at an advantage. If you predict that he will use the one that comes cutting down, you dash or shadow kick depending on the situation.
- When to shadow kick? a. When you know he can block it so you can use your advantage. b. When it gives you distance advantage but doesn't hit him necessarily, just goes right under his radar. c. When he wakeup pressures you from a safe distance where you can sell it.
- When to boomerang? Only use high and low. Medium boomerang doesn't give you much advantage in this setup unless pure reset, but even then high is even better. You low boomerang when you made him block high with an overhead. This can be traded off with the sweep/exoverhead or 34exoverhead
- When to crossjump? ALWAYS. After any spirit move, after any blocked string if he has no advantage. He's VERY vulnerable to it, so a jp b1 or jp 3 is your best option to keep the pressure on him.
- When to glow? Doing little glows is distracting. Opponent feedback states that the animation and the noise has a psychological effect. And it builds some diminutive amounts of meter. So glow when you can get away with it.
- When to EX glow? Remember that most of the time he is too far for your ex glow to give you the free combo it gives you against a Mileena or Kung Lao. In this fight, there are two scenarios for Ex Glow: One is to rush him down to get past spirit charge, and crossjump him for a combo, the other is when he's right on top of you swinging his sword at you in person.
Give it a shot.
