Zod would be a smart idea in sales and hype people up for the movie/game. It works both ways to be honest.

Scorpion is a pretty good idea considering a lot of MK players came to Injustice, and it will get more people interested in MK too.

MK9 isn't dead. If people want to play scorpion they can go right ahead and play scorpion.

And Zod would be a smart idea, if it didn't reek of corporate string pulling. Hes not that high up as a superman villain and not that interesting. If there was no movie, he would be near bottom of my list of potential people to add to the game. Same with Batgirl. We needed another batman character like we need a cold.

Black Manta would have been excellent, hell, Grodd would have been fine too. Captain Cold should have been in instead of KF in any case.

Same reason some people would play as the Joker, Bane, etc. They like to be the villains. That and if the movie is successful, it can revive the game through DLC related to Man of Steel. (Like how Bane was put in because of TDK/Arkham most likely.)

The Arkham Bane was shitty, I'll give you that. But a mistake? No.

Gameplay is what fighting game characters tend to strive for. Gameplay is all that most of the cast brings in the story since they're just there for shits and giggles.

it's not the same kind of magic, raven uses gravity/telekinesis mostly, and black canary does more than just a sonic projectile, about starfire you're probably right.

edit: elemental magic would make zatanna really different than raven.

also it's pretty easy to make zatanna different than raven because their magic is nowhere near the same. zatanna could have earth, fire, wind, water manipulation which is huge, illusions, some tricks with her hat. that's pretty simplified.
