General/Other - Takeda Kano B1 abuse vs Takeda

Youphemism

Gunslinger since pre patch (sh/out to The Farmer)
I said convert into a combo "setup", meaning her AA rocket or low rockets. Sorry if I worded this incorrectly but she can change it up and get good combos off of those. I've been hit with AA rocket standing in front of her before.
What's a combo setup though? Lol. And AA rocket only hits from WAY up close and if you're standing, and if you want a good conversion (in fact probably any sort of conversion) they need to be EXd.

A combo setup would be a situation where I can make you guess high or low to try and start a combo while you're still in recovery frames of some kind or waking up (turns into OKI then).

edit: unless I'm mistaken, that's what I kinda perceive it to be.

Takeda has both D2 and armour to get out of it so stop ignoring those things as options.
He actually can't d2 if Kano does frame-perfect b1s. He can still backdash, though, for full combo.

To summarize Takeda's options against Kano's b1 reps (let me know if I'm missing something):
  • Midscreen:
    • 2 Bars Meter, 2 Bars Stamina:
      • Block Breaker
      • Armor
      • Backdash into full combo with 112 (side note: I practiced this more last night and Takeda can actually get an 18-frame standing 2 out before Kano hits again)
    • 1 Bar Meter, 1 Bar Stamina:
      • Armor
      • Backdash into full combo with 112
    • 1 Bar Meter, No Stamina:
      • Armor
    • No Meter, 1 Bar Stamina:
      • Backdash into full combo with 112
    • No Meter, No Stamina:
      • Nothing (wait for stamina to regenerate)
  • Corner:
    • 2 Bars Meter, 2 Bars Stamina:
      • Block Breaker
      • Armor
    • 1 Bar Meter, 1 Bar Stamina:
      • Armor
    • 1 Bar Meter, No Stamina:
      • Armor
    • No Meter, No Stamina:
      • Nothing (block infinite) – might be best here to just unblock and eat damage to build meter*
*Before anyone freaks out about my corner block infinite suggestion, obviously I don't think it's great that you basically have to eat a combo to give yourself a chance to survive, but this is what I had to do with Harley in Injustice vs. Joker's corner block infinite. It sucks, but it's better than letting your opponent build full meter while you take chip and build no meter.

IF they are a frame off, i'm guessing there is a chance to trade with a d2?

That whole backdash into 112 full combo is complete misinformation, no half decent Kano player will keep doing B1s after they see Takeda backdash, and then to still do it in time for him to get an 11f jab out.

I think you should set Takeda on random reversals and see how easy it is to stop the pressure and block before he can reversal you with an armor move.

And do the same with Quan with his sky crusher or maybe his ex protal grab .
It. is. a. legit. block. infinite.

If you are escaping it in practice you arent doing the b1 pressure right.

Since it's been confirmed a block infinite I'm really surprised people are still arguing against changing it. It obviously needs to change now. There's no arguing it.

I was just going to post this... thank you.

All and all it reminds me of the nightmares of the Ares/Superman matchup before Injustice's final patch.

This is going away so don't get used to it.

I love that I play a character that pisses people off. This is great. I love Kano :)
Pretty much how I feel, cept I use commando, so they be dealing with the regular shenanigans + grabs at all times. Great play at NLBC btw, I learned a lot about footsies with Kano from seein you use him past couple weeks, I'm new to NRS, so been helpful.

Not saying a drastic change. I'm in support of the slight nerfs that just get it out of range of being a block infinite. Even with those it'll still be an amazing pressure tool, just not one you can cheese with mindlessly. he has plenty of other tools, slightly changing this move will not kill him, as long as they don't go overboard and absolutely kill the move it'll be fine.

By legit block infinite meaning you can't even get an armor move in or a backdash? ??

Because if you can it isn't a block infinite.

Otherwise i understand what you mean in that he doesn't have a move without meter to change the situation with out him taking damage.

In my head I already see Kanos armored ball blowing that up but don't quote me yet. Lol!
Yeh I do agree with you there but he definitely needs all the tools he has. Cyber probably would have been better if it had more cyber-esc lazers for zoning instead of knives. His mid knives could have been better directed to cutthroat since it's heavily designed on his knives. But because he is now what he is, I don't think anything should be unnecessarily nerfed. That's my only argument in all of this. B1 may be a problem for takeda but it's not OP and I'm sure later down the line someone will find an answer for it.

Edit: I honestly think block breakers should only be one bar
I definitely agree.. Do that and I won't complain about slow normals anymore.
