Some definitions in my understanding (all of these are components of the space controling metagame):
- zoning - keeping/damaging the opponent further than jump distance;
- sapce control - keeping/damaging the opponent at around jump distance/further than the furthest reaching normal attack (the definition is not accurate though, if someone knows how this is called please correct me);
- footsies - keeping/damaging the opponent at around his/your furthest reaching normal attack.
That being said, although there are a lot of good at zoning characters, none of them is good enough .
