My whole argument previously was that it's not just as simple as punishing a move that is -13(ish? not in front of console). It's contending with all the different options at any point in time is overwhelming/oppressive such that people are forced into hugely unfavorable situations. If playing perfectly, obviously that person should win; otherwise it would be a literal 10-0 and hopefully addressed.
The interesting point is that Shinnok is at such a huge advantage in most realistic scenarios (after a re-stand combo, after a blocked amulet blast, after a meter burn hell sparks, after regular hell sparks IF the threat of meter is present). It means that Shinnok can get away with loopable pressure or just dumb reads because there's so many things to defend against. It's not that Shinnok is un-beatable; he obviously is. It's that every scenario he finds himself in, he is at advantage over other characters, and has superior tools to put himself into advantageous situations.
Everyone can grow and overcome a 6-4 match up. However, when a character is 6-4 against all but 3 of the cast (obviously contestable, but a reliable source out of YOMI has posted it as such), then BY DEFAULT you have a 60% chance to win any game before the players are even considered. Casinos are happy to take a 50.2% advantage towards the house... having a 60% success rate against ALL CHARACTERS is unbalanced.
The argument of 'git gud' is valid to a point; when it's two of the highest level tournament players in our community, I think it's valid saying a character is more powerful than the rest, and can should be addressed. Obviously communities have been wrong in the past, and the Black Adam dive kick example I thought were great, but it's clear there's a problem with the character at present.
