The Pre-Order Beta will take place from August 18-21.


PRICING / EDITIONS

• Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition will be available physically and digitally for $69.99 (SRP)
• Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition will be available physically and digitally for $109.99 (SRP) — includes all Standard Edition content, along with the Kombat Pack, early access to the game beginning Sept. 14, and 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency). The Kombat Pack will feature a Johnny Cage character skin with the likeness of famed actor and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme (available at launch), early access to six new playable characters (available post-launch), and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch).

NEW MECHANICS

I tried on the 10th day iirc but nope. They only refunded the Lego game I got.

Definitely try again. This game isn't even released yet so that 14 day shit means nothing.
Even has that extra special clause about digital games getting a 30 day exception for basically no reason. Therefore it is negotiable. I don't see anything in there about unreleased games.

in my experience xbox are untouchable assholes when it comes to refunds though. you can try it, they say no and then theres not even a button you can push to contact them about it. but from a legal perspective, he should definitely try.

 

In any event I would be shocked if there wasn't an option to upgrade your purchase once the game is out at least. They definitely will have their "gib money pls" button installed.

@Skybox Don't call Xbox Support, call Microsoft Store Support.

Log in to your Microsoft Account, go to your recent orders, and there should be something along the lines of a help option. I recall it being in the bottom left of the item. You can then find a contact section for their number (need to sift through the countries).

Don't do email or anything, actually pick up the phone and call them. Explain to them that you ordered the wrong edition. You'd like to refund it and with them on the phone, do the order for the premium edition. I'd be surprised if they say no because you're going to give them more money.

There isn't at this time.

But as I said, call Microsoft Store Support. Talk to an actual human and explain what you want to do. I will be very surprised if they say no.

You may have to purchase the premium edition first, that way they guarantee their money, but so long as you get your refund that shouldn't be an issue.

 

I hope Invasion rewards/Worlds aren't limited.

Think how Halo infinite still lets you complete the 1rst seasons battle pass even tho it's almost season 5, and the ability to swap between each pass freely

if I were to get a early copy, they probably want me to do the thing im known for, not necessarily a review.

I’ve seen multiple people who got the game early say that Reiko is actually super good. Like even with limited time with the game, they’re saying Reiko could possibly be “broken”. Now, I don’t think you can know that with limited time with the game unless it’s super super obvious. But also, I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be a day 1 patch tomorrow that changes a lot of stuff from what I’ve heard.

All that said, these opinions from people who got the game early should be taken with a grain of salt.

Interesting. I remember back in Mk11 when ChernyWolf (or something like that) got the game early and was saying that Noob Saibot was looking like a top 3 character. Apparantly this same person was infamous among the competitive FGC for trash talking (and losing a finals tournament against someone who used random select just to show how trash Cherny was or something).

Fuck I forgot about CherneyVolk. I wish he was still forgotten. He was a hero to us for about an hour because he had the game early, then he started demanding actual money be sent to him to show us move lists, frame data and other things.
