You are skipping over the simple fact that I do not have to change how I play/time things from practice mode to online play.
However, and I'll re-state it: Consider that NRS had to move MK9's online to...I want to say it was Gamespy?
I don't think NRS has the capabilities in-house to operate flawless netcode from a server stand point. In fact, most PSN connections are P2P. How is it that, with how P2P connections work, no one ever considered that in some cases, it might not BE the net code?
NRS also isn't on the level of say, Ubi Soft or some other HUGE development company. They're relatively small compared to the more recognizable companies involved. Which means there may be only so much they can do regarding net code programming.
Honestly, as long as each game is better than the last, I'm satisfied.
