So...what you're trying to say is...I hope it's good. As a father of a 2 year old, that lives in a remote area that happens to have incredible networking because it sits on a the Rocky Mountain fiber backbone, it's either online play or sit in Training mode by myself.
Mk9 netcode was bad. IGAU was better, but still bad. I'm convinced that PS4 IGAU is only better because of the 2 frames of input delay PS3s had. Hopefully MKX is another step in the right direction. I mean if USF4 on PC can do finally get it right, Mortal Kombat can as well.
One other thing, your bandwidth mean nothing. You could have synchronous 1Gb fiber (1 Gigabit up, 1 Gigabit down), but if you have ping to the remote end of +50ms, your experience will be sub par. Again, advertised bandwidth means nothing in gaming latency. NOTHING.
One more time: BANDWIDTH MEANS NOTHING, round trip ping times are the most important bit.
Did I say it enough?
You probably shouldn't have said it once. At the very least you shouldn't have put in all-caps a point which is 100% untrue. Bandwidth does not mean nothing.. Bandwidth is very consequential for connection quality. One more time: BANDWIDTH MEANS NOTHING, round trip ping times are the most important bit.

BRAVO!Quality of online play. Will it be Killer Instinct quality or MK9? It's unfortunate but I gotta say that if MKX doesn't have KI's quality of online play then I can't justify buying it.
Have there been any substantial, definitive releases of info from NRS regarding online play? I know they've said they care and whatnot about the competitive scene, but caring doesn't really mean anything. I'm sure they cared a lot about MK9 too and we all know how horrible the online was.
Ok, 256k DSL it would suck, but most people these days have the minimum bandwidth required so it shouldn't even be a conversation. Actually I think the issue these days is more to the end everyone in the house bottlenecking that connection with Netflix/downloads/etc when the player thinks his network connection is really good. You probably shouldn't have said it once. Ping is a very useful measure for latency, and latency is highly consequential. But low latency doesn't mean much if bandwidth bottlenecks data transfer size.
Bandwidth and ping are both very important.
It's been the same story for 10 years now, and I experienced it each time. People hoped and were excited to have significantly better online each instance from MKD to MKA to MKDC to MK9 to Injustice and now MKX.Seeing as how NRS hasn't given us an ounce of assurance, all I can say is that I've completely given up on the netcode for NRS games. With that being said, I will be playing this game offline for the most part.
Brah data transfer size don't mean shit for video games the data transfer rate is laughably small. You probably shouldn't have said it once. If that is so why don't you two just play together and level up as you go along? That is better than playing online, anyway. Even if it's just you two meeting up once a week, you two can learn various characters as time goes on in your spare time.As someone who knows Ninj IRL, I can safely say that if the netcode is bad he probably won't buy the game. Some quick points. Netcode in all NRS games to date has been bad, including PS4 injustice. As others have said they need to use rollback netcode. I'm optimistic that MKX may in fact use rollback netcode. Everybody knows how well KI runs online and it's my understanding that NRS, IG and the guy behind skullgirls (known for it's great rollback netcode) have all been in communication.
I will call Ninj's bluff if one condition happens. If they add skarlet, I'd venture a guess he'd buy the game regardless of bad netcode.
Personally I don't think bad netcode is acceptable for a studio the size of NRS with the marketing budget they've had and financial success they've had from previous titles. I don't expect them to have any shortage of resources and as such I see bad netcode moving forward as a huge failure. So I can't say I agree with the mentality of setting your expectations low, because it's unacceptable for it t be bad given the resources available.
Exactly.I don't think Injustice's netcode was even that bad. I rarely had problems.
ill wait for you guys to buy this game day 1 and tell me how it is. I AINT PREORDERING SHIT!
KL poor character list and only online and training mode justify MKX prise ? MKX has a lot for modes, good story, arcades, towers etc, even with bad online MKX justify his priseQuality of online play. Will it be Killer Instinct quality or MK9? Killer Instinct which is essentially the perfect fighting game.
Online is what keeps the game inside my disc tray, those things are boring.KL poor character list and only online and training mode justify MKX prise ? MKX has a lot for modes, good story, arcades, towers etc, even with bad online MKX justify his prise
Dunno bout that. KI online good netcode (minius a few desyncs) to the best of my knowledge wasn't known until we had an xbone. Also I dont recall Double Helix saying "our online is great " prior to launchHonestly injustice online was riddled with online issues and mkx will be no differnt. If it was they would be bragging about it and they are not. So expect the worse and hope you will be presently surprised.... I really doubt online issues will make anyone stray from mkx.
