Street Fighter V General Discussion

Rip Torn

ALL I HAVE IS THE GREEN.
Haunts posted the blog. He pretty much says nothing new at all :(

Hey everyone! We know all of you have been very patient waiting for new information surrounding Street Fighter V. Over the past few months, there have been a lot of questions coming our way surrounding upcoming content around the game and the current state of the development roadmap.

We’ll be the first to admit that we can improve our communication with the community, in terms of where our priorities lie around the game and status updates. We plan to change that in the coming weeks and months and will work to quickly address topics that come up in the community as best we can.

Below, we will be addressing some of the major concerns in the community surrounding Street Fighter V. Hit the jump for the latest updates and be sure to sound off in the comments section with any questions.

Ibuki Release

The first thing we want to address is the release of our next DLC character, Ibuki. We had originally aimed to release her in the last week of May, but in order to provide the best experience possible for our players, we decided to postpone her. We are doing our best to release the content in the last week of June.

To reiterate, we are currently aiming for the last week of June to release both Ibuki and the Cinematic Story Mode.

We apologize to our players all over the globe for not communicating this change to our release schedule sooner.

While we planned to talk about the timing of her release this week, it’s clear that we should have been more upfront with everyone on the shift in timing.

Moving forward, the development team will continue to put quality of the product above all else. This may result in additional delays in content deployment. That said, we will be much more transparent when plans change so all of our fans know what to expect.

Please continue to support the development team in any way you can. They are working very hard to bring you the best Street Fighter yet and positive feedback and support helps more than you can imagine.

Reports of Input Delay

We have heard reports of input delay and have shared it with the development team. They are currently looking into the reports and we will let you know as soon as we find out more.

Rage Quitting Issue

We know some of you are still not having the best experience online due to players who rage quit but we are happy to report that the latest solution has brought the amount of players who disconnect during matches down by roughly 60%.

While this is an improvement, it’s clear we still have a lot of work to do on this issue and you can expect us to roll out additional measures in the future to help address this problem.

That’s about it for today so thank you all for your feedback and for letting us know your thoughts on what you want to see in Street Fighter V. Once again, we will continue to provide more consistent updates on the direction of Street Fighter V and will share information with our fans as soon as it’s available.

We’ll have a ton of new, exciting information for you in the coming days and weeks so keep checking back here or follow us @StreetFighter for the latest news.

I think it's because less people are doing ranked now so the pool of people is smaller. I can't get out of silver because last night I got 14 rookies, 3 super bronzes and a ultra bronze. Then a random platinum. If I lose any random ONE match and win the rest. I will have less points than I started. So shout outs to ranked
One word = Ragequitters

Yeah finding a good match is really tough. I'm not even particularly highly ranked - I'm gold - but in the past week I've literally run into zero people in my own rank or higher in ranked matches, so I'm left earning 5-10 pts per match, and occasionally getting frauded out by a (lag/rollback) teleporting jackass and losing like 110 pts in one go. (I'm in the UK and limit the matchmaking to 4-5 bars btw.)

Battle lounge is a little better but it's really frustrating that the search function is so limited and I can't search by connection or region. I basically have to manually check each individual room for people, and more often than not even the high ranked people are frauds that obviously rage quilted their way to their rank.

Best? Idk about that my good man
In MKXL you can play smoothly with less than 201ms of ping and its very acceptable, in street fighter you need 30ms or under, i keep getting denied of of playing online cause ping display is so ass, they always put me in the watch.

Why do developers insist on using bars too? Why not ping numbers? That, along with the netcode, is what has always been great about Skullgirls online play.

And I gotta say, I can't be bothered with online at all now. I play at weekly offline, and I just spend time in training mode now, studying match ups and working on improving the flaws that showed up during the session. There's enough jank offline (jump ins that don't hit as a cross up, but go through the character anyway, occasional input drops due to the legacy controller issue and weird animation glitches that sometimes cause characters to teleport across the screen) that adding lag and rollback to it just sucks the life enjoyment out of the game for me. Doesn't help that I'm a more defensive/reactive player, and that bulldogging, anti airs and whiff punishing online are woefully inconsistent compared to offline.

Where there is smoke, there is cancer.
I'm glad that Capcom delayed Ibuki. They said that they could have polished SFV more before releasing it and decided that they would give more time to the developers in the future so that they release the best product possible. They learned from their mistake and are now making sure they are releasing the best product that they can rather than something rushed.

So in summary,
Capcom Japan didn't want a DLC season pass roadmaps made because they knew they weren't going to meet the deadlines. Capcom USA made one because they know good and well that they weren't going to sell any season passes without one. Capcom Japan just pretended that the roadmap doesn't exist, but became pissed at Capcom USA for now giving them a deadline to work off of, and when Capcom Japan eventually fuck up and couldnt meet the deadline- they then decided to blame Capcom USA and let them take the heat.-
an i reading the situation correctly????

So basically went from full product plus DLC on disc to rushing stuff out.

All too easy...
"Reports of input delay"

Yeah there was no way they put that in by choice and then balanced the game around offline lag, thank god

What do you guys think will happen with the game in about a year? long play life like SF4 or MvC2? or will players move on to different games?
