This. Go look at when SFV was first announced and then any videos around EVO time. Improvements on Ryu and Chun and they changed lighting, shaders, whatever else goes into graphic settings. The game is obviously being worked on.

To be fair, saying it's "Japanese tradition" isn't the best way to defend Japanese society as being "ok" with gender relations. Japanese gender relations are terrible. Over 40 percent of Japanese women say they aren't into sex. And that number is around 20 percent for Japanese men. 30% of single men have never even dated at one point in their lives.... It's actually bad relations between the two gender groups there, it's really bizarre and actually sexually unhealthy.

In the west we commonly say "oh well, it's japan, it's their culture" but in Japan it's actually treated as a massive problem that needs to be solved.
