Wow had to delete my last response b/c it was garbage and i was eating sorry about that lol.

So after f1 2+4 into blade drop you are plus....but the string pushes them back so you would need to run up again to start pressure or you can just d3 or f3. At first i didn't realize the pushback and pig armored through. So after that i kind of got scared to push anything b/c i know pig likes to armor a lot. So i would try and see if he would armor and i can run again and start my pressure again. That's honestly all i got from playing the few matches we did. I would have to explore some more.

Also my goal isnt neccessarliy to get em close to the blade b/c blade call can be drawn back at any point of the screen. I just like doing it and going into b21 mix ups.

Main gameplan for me when i was using ronin was constant pressure with blade drop and call mix ups. I honestly haven't used ronin too much so i don't really know how to fully utilize him :/
My question to you is this: If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it really makes a sound?

If you're plus when you do blade drop but the push back makes it so you can't follow up with more pressure.. Are you really plus?? lol!

I guess him armoring would've addressed you d3ing– unless you can poke him out of his armored move in possessed which I kinda doubt– but would f3 have broken his armor?

f12+4 blade drop is not plus

you're only plus from b212+4 blade drop (+2) and 21 blade drop (+1)
 
it's all a mindgame, if your opponent is respecting blade call you can do anything you want after 2+4 blade drop anyway
lol i def should've read that guide more. I assumed blade drop and blade call had the same advantage lol well this is good to know. My bad for spreading wrong info.......

he would have block infinites against a lot of characters if he did haha

So my question is what is the longest safe block string you've been able to do to build some meter against blocking opponents? I keep hearing he's plus at times? What are those times and what do you follow up with?

Also what are you guys getting damage wise? I've got 34% of f21 1 meter... 47% off f21 2 meters and I guess we'll all agree that it isn't worth spending three bars on any one combo. Anybody getting more than that and if so what are your inputs?

pretty easy bnb, does 37% from 112 and f21 and 41% from 44.

also against most characters u can just do b212+4, blade drop, f122+4 quick call

just remember some characters can poke out after blade drop, and backdash/armor through f122+4

So Takeda doesn't have good pressure, zoning or rush down 50/50s in any of his three variations?!! What does that make him like low tier or something!?

question.. everybody has their own reason as to why Ronin shouldnt get the teleport but the more i think about it. the more i come to a crossroad.. ( before thinking this i was on the he doesnt need it train - which i still am but its not for the reason i felt it was before.) ... my question is what are we comparing him to when we say he would be OP with it..

hear me out...

1) are we saying that because then there would be almost no reason to pick SR or Lasher over this variation now- so he would be op only compared to himself?

2) are we saying it because of the being guilt tripped from The community is that anything strong or extremely useful in certain situations is OP

3) Do we think that giving ronin a teleport actually doesnt give most of the percent of other cast a far chance of a fight?

4) we are just on the OP bandwagon

i asked myself this question and i honestly can say its because of reason #1 and that one ONLY. i think if ronin has a teleport there would be also no reason for me to continue to play SR.. f122+4 teleport is essential in SR and essential for getting in and getting out .. .. if Ronin had that i prob wouldnt need to play SR as much.. pretty much only when i needed SR's b21 or air spear.

teleport is punishable/readable/bait-able and pretty much on par o no better than any other teleport in MKX. and on top of that, doing quick drop/call combos are already high on the execution side, throwing a tele in there is not going to make things any easier.( cooler yes, easier def not) how is this any different from the tool set than say, inferno scorpion has? or hat trick kung lao? i mean really take a look at the move set. if they say that scorpion is mid tier how would this make takeda OP. and how of ten do you see hat trick? and if its a damage thing then game dictates takedas damage like a catholic school teacher.. you really have to work for non meter damage in ronin and even one bar meter is far from brain dead...

now im not asking for Ronin to get tele.. cause really i like using both Ronin and SR.. both are fun so right now im trying to learn each equally..but i have came to be honest with myself that this is the only reason why im okay with him not having it. reflect is good, but had it been teleport from day one i dont think anyone would have batted an eye.

resaon 4 ive pretty much already answered - had Takeda had teleport from day one nobody would have said anything and just accepted it .. just like scorpion, ermac, lao, etc..

Good write up. I agree with everything you said except the part where you'd have no reason to use Shirai Ryu. The b21 range and air spear are plenty to make that variation unique. Although Lasher has the b21 range, low slash , whip trip, and whip strike are IMO plenty enough to make lasher unique. It's like you said if all three variations had tele from the beginning no one would've batted an eye. It not the best tele in the game by any means.. This would be a great change but I'd take these bug fixes over a new move any day.

Thanks, and i yeah I def would use SR still but I think for me , once I get more comfortable with ronin , if he had the teleport I'd def be using him just as much or if not more than SR..but this also adds in fun factor.. I mean right now my ronin is mediocre at best but I'm def having valor of fun with him. But yeah.. I'm def for fixing the problems that he has acrossed the board before anything else

corner stuff .. might already been known though

44 ex fist flurry jip njp jip 112 df1 40% (b21 starter = 34%)
44 ex first flurry jip njp jip 44 df1 41% (b21 starter = 36%)
44 ex FF jip njp jip 21 ff 40% ( must delay 21 slightly so ff can get finaly hit for knockdown)
b21 ex ff jip njp jip 21 ff 34% (same delay as above)
1% extra with jip // works on both males and fermales

so yest i was playing around with some corner escapes..
been trying to use Ronin more so i was experimenting with options he has in this situation .
i never reakky had to search for these options using SR.
seems the damage output really suck though.
maybe a few in here worth the effort.


also in the last combo i put the wrong one in there.. same combo but theres a blade drop at the end.

b21xxdb1bxxEXdb1,run,d1,njp,f21xxdf1 is the most (?) damage off the overhead at 31%.

Edit: d1,44xxdf1 is easier for the damage combo

damn i didnt know i you hit that d1 in to njp .. i tried it a few times last night and kept wiffing.. imma try to hit that..
and i think i do have one with the 112 df2 ender in my clips but i forgot to save that one..

i made like 30 ish clips last night but for some reason now with xbox's upload studio the quality looks like shit when you edit it.. so what i have to do is download my clips from xboxclips.com and then edit them in APCC, then upload them to YT so the quality stays .. thought i got everything but its looking like i left a few out or picked the wrong ones.

but thanks man , im def gonna try to hit that njp one.

Edit: yeah i see now . the one at 0:20 is supposed to be the 112bf2 28% but i left in the 11bf2 for 27%
