Injustice Middle East Tournament - Gameplay Archives

Treadmill
How does the Pushback system work in an actual game? We haven't seen it once to my knowledge.
From what I gathered around these boards it costs meter, pushblock is in Skullgirls and Mahvel.

Do stage transitions have armor as some think, does it cost more meter?
Some do have armor, look at the Shazam vs Flash video for example.

Is the rumored "one more cancel" feature from other games actually n? We've heard speculation but I've not seen any confirmation or denial.
I heard it was in.

I've heard it's a traditional light to medium to heavy linking combo system, and I've heard it's traditional mk style strings, which is what it looks to me but I dont know.
It's MK style strings.

How are throws teched? Is it like mk, or other fighters?
There is a throw button IIRC

If I use sf inputs can I do a qcf motion from crouch without returning to neutral, mk style you can't
Unknown at this point.

Do all supers have armor? Are they all super armor? Is the armor on startup, on finish etc.
Unknown at this point, some do, like superman's for example.

What exactly determine if a move/string has chip damage? They vaguely mentioned chip is either not universal or at least varies dependent on the move.
Unknown at this point

Doi automatically have a clash available after losing my first health bar or do I need a certain amount of meter?
From what I remember, you have to lose your first health bar. However, the videos here don't show people losing their first health bar and initiate clash. No meter is required but you're limited to ONE clash.

Are there universal moves like sweeps, uppercuts etc.?
Probably. Sweeps are almost always included in every game.

We still aren't clear on a lot of the traits and how they are actually implemented, I.e. Grundy, superman, green lantern etc.
That does suck :(

What frame data is included in the game exactly? Why can't they just let us know that?
iirc, duration, startup and advantage on hit/block. I might be wrong and it just might be startup

Are here physical hit trades, unlike mk where p1 always has the advantage?
There are trades

Is there a cap on damage as some speculate based on some random vague quote from somewhere?
No idea. First time I heard of that

Months ago ppl thought not only could you use the "one more cancel(I know that's not he name but that's what is was in persona)" to return specials and strings to neutral but could be used as a breaker as in persona, is that in the game?
Persona has two types of "Once More" attacks. The first one is the "roman"/one more cancel which you can do anytime if you have meter for it which essentially cancels out an attacks recovery animation. The second one is the One More Burst. This one uses your "burst" aka breaker and it could be done while youre getting hit to break a combo or while you're doing a combo to extend it. Two different mechanics with the function of extending combos but using different resources/types of meter.

tl;dr No, youre thinking of a different mechanic

Some specials look chargeable, does that mean they can be canceled? If so how?
No idea since there isn't a block button. Some charged moves let you move around (green arrow) so idk if back can be used to cancel it...maybe dashes?

And #1, he most important...please tell us game spy is not touching this game...haha

I realize some of this may have been answered, and I know some has been speculated on through videos, but I feel a month out we should not have questions like these regarding how the fundamentals of the game operate.

thats all I can remember at this moment
thanks man but a lot of this is what my problem is. Most answers are "I think, it looks like, in a video etc." we should know these things I feel.

Also a lot of things in mk are canceled by dashing...ground pound, military stance, nightmare stance etc.

Yeah thats true, NRS doesn't really go into detail about the mechanics of their fighters...like with MK 2011. However, a lot of the basic mechanics are known for Injustice and all we need to know is how the metagame will play out at this point I guess.

I understand. And trust me I get them focusing on the arena and all that fluffy stuff to get casuals to buy it. I really do. But go back and look at the old mkasts for mk9. At least thoughs provide a semi in depth look at wake ups, meter management, combo system, balancing etc. how hard would it be to set a camera in front of Paulo for 5 mins and he can hammer out a few explanations.

Treadmill, like 95% of that is completely irrelevant, dude. Maybe 99% of it. Think about it. What about damage caps, tech windows, and push back distance actually matters right now? Maybe when we have tourneys to prep for and M/Us to debate, but frame counts? Is there some paper/pencil major being streamed this weekend?

We all beat off to theory fighter but that doesn't work when there's no lab to go and check the numbers. Karried 's done a tremendous job cataloging what we know in the Watch Tower thread.

Unless you're the sort who needs a games entire movelist spoiled pre-release, I think you have enough to decide if this is the kinda game you want to play or not, which is really the only goal they need to achieve pre-release.

Am I the only one that thinks Batman should be the one using the zipline for mobility like he does in the comics? Are they just trying to make cyborg as much like spencer as they can with out getting yelled at?

Batman's not much of an acrobat, it makes more sense for him to weaponize his grapple gun for combat than to just zip around and kite foes.

No wake-ups?
Is it really back to block? Because Catwoman at the end just stood still, while still auto-blocking the batarangs.
Nightwing looks awesome.
And, man, seen nothing good from Wonder Woman except her throw being spammed. What's the purpose of forward throw of tiara, when shield toss does the same thing, only better? And tiara up-toss looks horrible.

Its the CPU, they're magic, they can probably block well walking forward and throwing fireballs, and juggling fucking chainsaws.

woah bro...simmer down. I don't mean tell me frames #s specifically. But why is so hard to tell us what will be available to us? Why shouldn't we know how armor works, or what gameplay mechanics are rumors or truths? Ppl are so worried about arguing for 45 pages about raven or killer frost but it's absurd I want to know ho the pushback works, or if armor is going to be universal on stage transisions? What? I don't need to be convinced to buy the game, but I would really like know ho the game will be played. Why is that "irrelevant"?

I already told you how armor works. Each super has couple frames of armor on Start Up, Transitions have armor, each character's special has a specific number of frames of armor, and varies by the special being used, same applies to wake ups, it's not universal like MK9's armor on wake up. These frame numbers are all alterable, so there's no need to know the exact frame, if something is wrong it can be changed.

Push Block costs a bar of meter to use. It pushes the opponent.

that's cool dude. I said that some things may be known that I missed. He was arguing that the things I wanted to know are "irrelevant" and that is stupid. Karried you have done an awesome job covering and organizing data, this isn't a reflection on you.

Some of it is. There's no need to know exact frames now, because they can be changed, and no one even knows how to apply the moves, so what's the point in knowing frames right now...

And thanks..

But they told us frame data is in there. Said it multiple times, even showed it at NYCC. Cross ups and trades and armor too. Paulo's been in stream chat at the last 3 majors answering questions. But this is a prime example of my point. I could tell you all of this, you could even track it all down, but it still wouldn't matter until you played the game. None of it.

And the people in the Killer Frost and Raven threads aren't getting any answers either. They're over there analyzing 75x75 pictures and spamming twitter just as 're picking over this 7 month old for tech details. I'm saying its all a waste of time at this point. If 90% of the dirt doesn't do it for you, the last 10% isn't gonna change that.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
Im diggin the lmh thing over links. You could get absolutely crazy with your combos and such with that in Marvel. I would do low to high series of light through heavies with Ryu and mix it up with standing lmh and such at random to open people up at times. Kept them guessing whether to block high or low. Plus it means for those casuals coming in they can just roll through the magic series and at least have one decent combo right out the gate. Heck I still know characters who are slept on in Marvel specifically because they do NOT have magic series. Sad but true stuff. L, M, H combo mechanics of any weaker normal will combo into a heavier normal is good in my eyes.

Karried do you know if low blocking is a thing in Injustice.? Im seeing a lot of moves that look like they should hit low being blocked by standing blocks. I dont know if this just means something simple like "okay that actually isn't a low" or if it means something big like "there are no high or low blocks. Just block in the right direction and it will block both highs and lows."

If its the latter then its not a universal block like in MK but its not a block system as advanced as other fighters where High low blocking is a major thing in addition to getting the direction right. Hoping there is low blocking.

lol Batman's not much of an acrobat? Have you read the comics? Using the grapple gun to zip around is exactly what he does. He doesn't shoot people with it.

I should've said acrobatics aren't his fighting style. Batman's got the moves like Jagger, especially when you compare him to the average Gotham thugs, but I wouldn't call him an acrobat on par with any of the Robins, their grown up counterparts, or even any of the girl bats.

OK that makes more sense. Although he does use the grapple gun pretty much exclusively for getting from place to place in the comics and movies, so reducing it to a scorpion chain rippoff is kind of disappointing.

it's fault of the Arkham games...
I'm not happy with Injustice Batman right now. Stance, moveset, super and gimmick seem all off character

Could someone gif out the Cyborg vs Cyborg sequence with their projectiles passing through one another. Thats a pretty BIG reveal that projectiles don't cancel out and I'd like to spread it to other forums.
I've been asking about this for months. I think it's weird that projectiles don't cancel each other out but projectiles and Environment objects do . I really do wish more people were talking about this so someone from netherrealm would confirm whether or not it'll be like that in the final build.

Paulo in a stream chat said projectile do not clash, this was pretty recent too.

Also, projectiles and Stage stuff do not cancel each other out, just some of them can be interacted with at a distance, like Harley shooting the TV, she doesn't use her normal gun shot, she just hits the stage button.

I had to go back and watch the Nightwing vs Cyborg NYCC vid. I thought Nightwing's wingdings and the hover-car canceled each other out but it looks like the wingdings hit cyborg. It happens around 1:08.

The Wingdings hit cyborg, which cancels that long animation he is in, and the car just explodes cause that's all it really can do.
