I like to play bad characters
We need him to stream a ft10 with sonic fox so when he gets 10-0'd all of his stream fans will finally realize he is garbage
They would still watch because most of them are casuals. Watching the hardcore tourney player streams is only entertaining if you are a hardcore FG player because they just start>rematch and their streams outside of tourney's are void of commentary. true talent dude talks and interacts with people and does all the fatalities etc. which is what casuals want to see. They can also better relate to him since he is an on-line player like them. Most have no idea what it's like to go to an off-line event. Basically he entertains more than the top players. PL is somewhat similar because he talks with people etc. I'm not defending him, just calling what I see.

Twitch streaming isn't all about showing off who's better at a game, the majority (or nearly all of it) is about building a community of people that love the same game and interacting and connecting. Just because you may think hes not the best in the world doesn't mean he doesn't seem to be an all around good guy. That's mainly what I look for in watching a stream and also on the occasion I stream myself.

he most likely isn't making too much at all, I would say his biggest revenue would be from twitch but I'm not sure if he's even partnered on it. Youtube would be barely anything really, with the amount of views he gets.
It's enough for him to live on. He probably earns more on Twitch, it's where most of it comes from probably, but YouTube's money isn't as bad as you think. Look at the amount of videos he uploads: In the past 24 hours he has uploaded around 11 videos all getting around 1 - 3 thousand views each. In the short tail, based on YouTubes standard cpm rates he'll only be getting about a dollar or two per thousand views (that's what mines is roughly). So that means he could earn around $20-$30 every day if he did that every day BUT that's not it. There's the longtail, the bigger videos, his entire collection. They don't stop getting views, they just don't get that initial mass of views when it's fresh out - but they all get something, and all those smaller somethings are still monetizable and they all add up and make a nice addition to his paycheck. YouTube money isn't as bad as some people think.

You know me as RisingShieldBro online.
He is right though. Lots of pro players, including Sonicfox, did lose a lot but those losses only made him stronger. Tom Brady learning Sub Zero had losses as well but he improved too. Don't forget about Pig's Kenshi and Zod either. Losing does make you learn.

Entertaining the masses isn't always about being the best. Like one poster said, they like Tru because he's positive and relatable. Casuals are only interested in being entertained, and they make up the majority of the people who buy the game.

Have to also remember that these people don't understand the game like we do. They need to have their hands held and be shown how it all works, on the simplest level.

That being said, I wish that they would make more of an effort to find top players and watch them too. No reason why everyone can't have views.

Oh look, a jealousy thread filled with pretentious comments.

I watched his stream for 10 minutes and it wasn't for me. However, I could definitely see the appeal to "casuals" as you all put it. He played several characters, knew combos, and constantly conversed with the viewers. That's all a lot of people want. Also, in that time frame he said himself he wasn't a top player, but understood the basics. Get over yourselves.

Let him be. He's really not for me but he makes people happy and doesn't harm anyone. Although, I liked the OP because Tru3's avatar blankly looking at me made me burst out laughing for some reason.

isnt that the guy that joined all the 12 year olds in posting hate filled comments on DSP videos? Doesnt seem like a positive person to me...

I've had experience with this and trust me; you are overestimating it greatly. His revenue from twitch is probably pretty decent if he's partnered, but the youtube stats are a bit off. 1 dollar per thousand views is somewhat close, but usually less as they take a cut and have different CPM depending on the network he is partnered with. He also may not be able to monetize some of his videos, and as far as we know he could have only been partnered in the last year or so, which means he would have to go back and monetize those older videos (but I honestly doubt his injustice videos are getting any views anyways). Much bigger youtubers make a lot due to having higher CPM, as well as other sources of income from the the various things they can do (clothing/advertisements/appearances/etc.), but tru3 is definitely on the lower end of things at the moment. That was all I was saying.

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
Y'all need to relax about the dude. His stream has no gimmicks or stupid nonsense to capture more viewers. He informs about the the game in his own way and captures casuals far better then most others Casuals turn into fans. Fans turn into players. Players into pros. So really why the salt? If he's doing his thing and people follow the guy and learn then more power to them. If more pros or tourny players did more streaming or whatnot then it'll be a even better community. Plus the learning curve for most can be daunting and intimidating. It's good a great player is taking a humble and respectful approach while having fun and teaching others about the game. Y'all need to chill. Relax and learn a thing or two either by him or your own selves winning and losing.

I mean, is he really wrong with what he's saying? Annoying viewers or not, I don't see the big deal unless people just hate the fact he's popular and doesn't play this game on a level of per se myself or any of you or other pro players. Just let the guy be, sheesh.

He's a pretty solid player. Don't watch his stuff often but never got a bad impression from anything I did watch. Why the hate?

This sites beef with this guy is obnoxious.
I agree, can't say I'm a huge fan but he's good for the community period. So I respect what he does and keep my opinion to myself, I don't think we should ever be bashing the streamers that take the time to get the game out there. Seeing as some of them are even kind enough to host the larger tournaments, the 4-5k viewer spike at NWM I think it was, from True hosting surprised me since he gets so much hate and bs here, really didn't think he would give a shit, I probably wouldn't.

Getting the tournaments out to a larger viewerbase that wouldn't have known about them otherwise ( the causals ) really should be something we welcome here, so the hate doesn't make sense to me especially when he hasn't claimed to be good himself, just his casual viewers that express their high opinion of his skill a bit too loudly which is easily ignored.

Tru3's a nice guy who says stupid shit from time to time - which is basically everyone on TYM.

People see his follower count, then see him play and instantly start hating.

Without Tru3 I still wouldn't know about TYM. He's a good influence on casuals.
