This was my first time going to GGA or any tournament for that matter. It was an amazing experience. Playing in the open tournaments was so fun and rewarding regardless of how badly I got bodied.
I didn't go there to win or prove anything. I went to have a good time and meet like minded people to converse with.
This weekend surpassed any expectations I had and I hope to come back again soon for some more fun times.

Thanks everyone at GGA and everyone who attended for making this weekend so enjoyable. Everyone I talked to was so friendly and helpful.

Also I found it very ironic that the very first tournament match I ever had was a mirror match between the only 2 Kotal players in the entire building(as far as I saw).

The only things I regret are not being able to play my best(I got maybe 2 hours of sleep between Friday morning-Sunday morning after the event, I may have seemed like a zombie at times) and not talking to more people.

Thanks everyone again and i hope I can come again soon.

have you actually traveled and competed for money to even have a say in what people should do?

class doesnt win tournaments btw
Even if I hadn't, this comment is nonsense. Sorry. I have paid to travel to multiple tournaments. So according to you that means I "have a say" and things should be changed in the future. No, that's not how it works. There is no absolute power, save for a TO. Aside from that, we say whatever we want, so don't imply that we somehow cannot.

As far as class, it does not win tournaments. I just find it strange that you would be enthusiastic about a community that does not value integrity or character. This was not EVO, not even close. I'll spare you an analogy

Idgaf where the hell the person I'm going against is from, be it down the road from the venue or Saturn...I'm there to win. I will take the win 100% of the time if somebody's equipment fucks up.
This I do understand. But given the cultural barriers, the extreme distances traveled, the nature of the tournament (i.e. small pot, small bracket, invitational, celebrating the release with an MK party in Chicago), and the fact that WoundCowboy was on the ropes and actually losing, I felt like something should have been done. But I do feel you.

Wound is not scummy. I regret not choosing better words. To be clear, the entire scroll tournament I was praising the stream (i.e. Bit's stunningly articulate commentary) and drunkenly bashing the trolls. My top MK9 players to watch were Dizzy and WoundCowboy. In the heat of the McFly moment I just had a brief stinging feeling that it was more about e-wins than camaraderie and community, and it got to me. I hope to buy everyone beers soon.

Mcfly is an awesome dude super nice. I think wound stopped for a second when the controller stopped but mcfly gave him the go ahead to take the round so he did. He knew it was his fault so no shame for either person.

What a misguided theory.

Equipment is only equipment it can fail at any moment for any numerous reasons for anybody. If he didn't broke it how can it be on him? And how can you take responsibility for equipment malfunction which isn't your doing. And on top of all in what world this has anything to do with honor? (to the op)

And winning is winning but to be honest i like to think that when i do win it means im better then my opponent not because his own equipment beat him for me (in some part).

And money excuse is like the worst thing ever imo. Some people act like winning a tournament etc is a matter of life or death to them (in terms of money). If that would be the case then like 90% of people competing wouldn't play anymore. Coz they would be broke. Money in tournaments its just a nice bonus, nothing else.

And on top of that if money is > then honor for you then well...

Anyway thats my 2 cents on the matter. One thing i agree with 16 bit on is "You can think whatever you want though".
His controller didn't break. He was using a ps360+ which only works for 8 minutes at a time. It is well known and he chose to use it. It sucks, but get better equipment before traveling across the world, imo.
