I don't think their contributions to the scene are independent to how their opinions are to be perceived, and I also don't think this line of thinking falls into the category of absurdity. If anything, the fact that this even has to be explained in such detail for people to understand is a little absurd. It's like people just want to be offended by something.

In simple terms, let's say you are looking up information on a scientific topic. Who is going to get more interest or how are you going to look to first, a renowned scientist, or Joe blow who lives in this grandmas basement and hasn't left since the mid 80's?

Most people respect or at least are interested in the thoughts of pro players because they play the game at the highest level, and they might see something in a character that some like me may have missed. I wouldn't expect to post a thread about pre release characters and expect to get thbe and type of respect that someone like pig or sonic get, because I haven't earned that same respect. It's not absurd it's just life. It's why Gordon Ramsey and Rachel ray can make millions from tv shows and books, why formal professional athletes typically go on to be commentators on tv broadcasts, and why Steve Harvey and Dr. Phil can have their own radio shows.

This isn't to say that top level players can just post or say whatever they want without consequence. A video declaring that this tool is ABSOLUTELY going to be broken before the game is released, or that this char is without a doubt is going to be top tier would be a little different. Sonic got called out, and rightfully so, for complaining about ice clone soon after the release of MKX. So their are limits to this line of thinking. But expecting everyone to get a universal reaction to what they post , regardless of skill or community involvement, is folly.

I'm really hoping that Darkseid is as strong as Sonic is saying. It wouldn't feel right if NRS made him ass because he's a pre-order bonus character. Darkseid SHOULD be a monster in this game. He could crush this entire roster like a bug if he felt like doing so.

The worst trend imo of TYM is the "top player knows better than us" logic, which has so many faults I wouldn't know where to start. It would be like saying the only way Bill Belichick could become one of the greatest coaches and minds in NFL history is if he was a superstar in the NFL. Clearly we know that isn't the case. Rarely do you have to be amazing in said competition to fully understand the competition.

I am more than happy to have anyone share as much as possible, I've been a huge pusher of such. But they gotta have the same thick skin that we have and deal with challenges or pushback when they make statements that are controversial or less accepted. Expecting hero worship is the last thing that should be given out on a competitive gaming site ever.

Alright I'm gonna leave it at that so the people who wanna debate Sonic's tier list can have their thread lol.

I agree with you but this isn't one of those times and this isn't a Tier List. I really don't understand how people are even putting tier list in their responses how ignorant are all of you?

He gave opinions based on what hes seen so far in the game on a select few characters. Ok? Absolutely nothing wrong with this at all prior to the games release.

I'm sure 99% of the people commenting on this thread have reacted to the characters they've seen on screen so far in their head or to friends about how they feel about certain characters or if things look broke yada yada. Thats all he is doing here. He isn't saying this character is A tier this character is S tier... He is saying by how things LOOK to him this character could be a good zoner, this character could be good at rush down and 50/50s, or this character could be the next Cyrax. Take it with a grain of salt and move on.

The reason us more non experienced players accept this video more than we would if you made this shit @SaltShaker or someone else that's not as successful or relevant in the scene is because Sonic Fox is really fucking good so of course people want to hear his opinions and will be accepting of them more so than they would if you made this video, if you cant comprehend that idk what to tell you.

While I hate speculation myself personally, seeing people get heated for someone's opinion is too amusing yet annoying.

It's not like SF is gonna be right all the time. Part of why I've become somewhat welcoming towards this (aside from the game just being here around the corner) is to see how wrong and right a person is.

People just need to chill tf out rn lol.

If I say that a character -MAY- be too good, then they -MAY- be too good. There is a possibility that they are not. And if they are not, then move on to the next character. Yahoo came out to ask my two cents of what I think about characters, and I gave them my speculation. Not a tier list, not "this character is number 1," a speculation. It would be one thing if i just said it without any reasoning, but I even went into detail on why they may be good. Maybe they aren't? Maybe they are. If you got your own head out of your ass, you would see that what I'm saying in that video is that they MIGHT be good, but at the same time as I've also stated in the video that people seem to gloss over, I'd have to see more when the game comes out.

Regulate me? I have MY head in my ass? You said multiple times in the video that you have "fans" that are going to follow what you say. I don't run around telling people i'm better than them and can beat them any day of the week.

You don't get what i'm saying, possibility or not, people are going to believe what you're saying because you're in the position that you're in. You need to consider that when you spout bullshit like you did in this video, but who am I kidding? Bullshit is the best thing you output, right next to tournament wins.

I didn't gloss over what you said, i'm telling you that people are going to take your word as fact REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU SAY. Speculation or not, some people just don't care.
