Why do developers insist on using bars too? Why not ping numbers? That, along with the netcode, is what has always been great about Skullgirls online play.

And I gotta say, I can't be bothered with online at all now. I play at weekly offline, and I just spend time in training mode now, studying match ups and working on improving the flaws that showed up during the session. There's enough jank offline (jump ins that don't hit as a cross up, but go through the character anyway, occasional input drops due to the legacy controller issue and weird animation glitches that sometimes cause characters to teleport across the screen) that adding lag and rollback to it just sucks the life enjoyment out of the game for me. Doesn't help that I'm a more defensive/reactive player, and that bulldogging, anti airs and whiff punishing online are woefully inconsistent compared to offline.
While I agree it's a bit tough to play reactively, with the 8 frames of offline lag plus the weaker netcode, I think it's a lot easier to do so compared to MKX. It's really refreshing to be able to anti air consistently and not have people go from being full screen to putting me in 50/50 mixups in a blink of an eye. Even the 15 frame dashes that Capcom players are crying about pales in comparison to MKX characters mixing up run in 50/50 vs run in jump. I can just stand two dashes away in SFV and I'm fine but in MKX there is basically no escape anywhere on screen in certain matchups (you can stil counter the MKX run ins of course but it's not a pure reaction, which annoys me).

In MKXL you can play smoothly with less than 201ms of ping and its very acceptable, in street fighter you need 30ms or under, i keep getting denied of of playing online cause ping display is so ass, they always put me in the watch.
Not only comparing MKx and SFV.

What do you guys think will happen with the game in about a year? long play life like SF4 or MvC2? or will players move on to different games?
I don't SFV is going to see such a drop in competitors. It's SF. Plus the base game is pretty good. They'll be changes and such later on. Video game consumers can be an emotional fickle bunch but I don't think this current situation will do enough for people to abandon SFV. Compare this to the SFxT fiasco. Fuck do I miss that game. Wish SFV was more like that.

I miss that game too. One thing it had, which I think is the main thing SFV lacks, is freedom to play/combo creatively. Capcom built such a controlled engine for SFV - which has made for a well balanced game - but I feel like the amount of tech in the game is really low. Relative to MKX, there's really not much room for creative setups, gimmicks, and cool conversions off stray hits. I like footsies and fundamentals, but I like some crazy stuff too.

Oh absolutely. My issue is more rooted in the fact I'm lucky enough to play offline where reactionary anti air and counter poke opportunities have a consistent timing, and going online interferes with that. But you're right, even online this game is much fairer towards defensive players than MKX. When I get frustrated with SF, I can always figure out what I need to work on to improve. With MKX it too often came down to 'I didn't block high/low in a 50/50 and lost 40% of my life because of it', and I couldn't figure out how to fix that.

I voted no. I don't want to see my favourite competitors get randomed out because they lack experience in the matchup. No idea what the rule on CPT events and other majors are but for something as big as Evo, she probably should take a miss for a year.
Im sure Wizard mentioned that the cut off date was june 15th but that was before this poll.

I dno, maybe SF characters are easier to learn MU's for in that amount of time. Maybe it's fine. I'm new to SF myself so I wouldn't know, I just wouldn't want to see like Chris G or Jwong to get put out for lacking MU exp y'know?

To me SF was never that crazy. So while I do miss SFxT combo system, to me that was more from the tekken side. I always thought SF was one of the more if not the most tame fighters. So I'm not as disappointed as some other players. Though I do wish they implemented more bounces like in SFxT. Also remember that the combosl rules were a bit different how switching lowered the internal hit limit.

Idk. SF puts such an emphasis on knowing the little things for a MU, especially this one. Like when I faced JJ last night. I thought F.A.N.G's far reaching df.HP was almost unbeatable for Zangief. Then it turns out there's enough time for him to armor through and grab me before the second hit. At first glance plenty players might miss something like that.

Getting hit from behind my Vtrigger was random as hell too.

So, I've been hearing that changing PS4 resolution to 720p can reduce the input delay for SFV. Nothing exact, but it's apparently real.

Yeah I dont record videos when I play friends but I should do it really lol
Lol I just occasionally hit the share button. In 2016 live recording stuff is sooo 2010 :p

I saw PL tweeting about it, no idea how true it is but if it's the case then damn would all players have to reconfigure to suit that if it's a significant amount?

I changed my settings, but the human eye sucks lol, so I can't really tell. I never really noticed the effects, since I have never played the PC version. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a true thing.
