I completely understand. Honestly, I'd like to know whether I'm going to have to spend more money for a solid online experience as soon as possible because I'm going to if I have to. My issue isn't necessarily with the assumptions, but the people who are taking their assumptions as fact and telling people that the new netcode is exclusive to MKXL when there's little to no evidence pointing to GGPO being exclusive. Unfortunately as always though, NRS does not know how to communicate so we're left in the dark which is shitty.
I can get behind this. I agree that people shouldn't be jumping to conclusions and automatically assume we have to empty our pockets for KP2 or for a new online. I just don't think we should assume that we don't have to being that there's nothing to base it on but an announcement with no details. It's like me saying "hey guys there's a football game tomorrow". Where? Who's playing? What time? Questions are going to follow announcements so you make them with details like almost every company out there does.
Just because they're not responding to every little question doesn't mean the sky is falling.
It's called the MKX beta not the MKXL beta.
Other than the tweet by ed boon there is no reason to assume that the netcode is exclusive to MKXL. Even that assumption is sketchy because the MKX characters he mentioned are not exclusive to MKXL, nor is The Pit stage known to be exclusive.
It's not like they avoid insignificant questions like "hey can Fujin make KP3". People ask legitimate questions about an announcement involving their money so they can plan accordingly. If this was the first time then yea it would be whatever, but they have a bad habit of doing this. I'm not an "MK only" type so I'm not used to this type of treatment from a company so I can relate to the other side getting upset.
My main point is if you make an announcement to owners and potential buyers you give details. That's the whole point of an announcement. You don't tell someone you're selling a car and when they ask how many miles are on it you ignore them. That's the in a nutshell. The only "details" told go into how amazing the MKXL is which is fine, they have to make their sales. They just need to do it in a better way that doesn't involve completely ignoring your loyal fan base because lately I see a lot more "I'm going to SFV" post mainly because of their trolling or ignoring actions wearing thin.
So I'm not saying people are right for assuming it's MKXL exclusive netcode, I'm saying they aren't wrong either until told otherwise which is a very important detail and easy to resolve in 5 seconds by someone in the know.
