Two men enter, one man leaves!
Darth Arma has been doing fantastic the last few events, think he deserves to commentate for grand finals alongside ultradavid, aris, or brady and as much as I love 16 Bit I don't see him doing grandfinales but would be nice to see him commentate pools.

Take$$$

gotta take it to make it

Whomever does it, just do it well: be hype, be semi-knowledgeable with most characters strings/set ups, don't consistently talk over the other commentator, and a very important one in my opinion is if a match is going on don't say anything that you can't get out in one breath; it gives the other commentator opportunities to chime in for the back and forth that makes commentary smooth and also mid match we don't need to be hearing stories about that one thing that happened that one time, with that one player, blah blah blah...and the match is already over before the story finished.

Save those types of stories for in between/after games/matches so you have something interesting and relevant to say when there is dead air/while the next match is being set up so commentators aren't just looking down reading the twitch chat, trying to defend themselves against monsters critiquing their commentary.

UltraDavid does an amazing job whenever he commentates, and as much as people hate on Godspeed for occasionally making cringe worthy puns or jokes, he's also well spoken and understands the game as well as when to talk, when not to talk, and keeps his commentary to the match at hand.

Aris and 16 Bit are also consistently solid on the mic, as well as James Chen even though he doesn't commentate for MKX too often.

This constructive criticism was great. We need more people like you who specifically point out what they don't like instead of saying "X guy SUCKS". Well, why does he suck? If you want something to improve, speak up about it so it can be fixed.

I have a keen eye for all things broken.
UltraDavid is for sure the best. Please no Brady. He spends the whole time complaining, feeling sorry for his performance, or talking crap about players cause they are missing punishes even though they are way farther in the tourney than he himself got.

It'd be nice to have guys like Tom Brady, Perfect Legend or POH commentating. Doubt that'll be possible though. Idm having Ketchup and Mustard commentating. Maximilian Dood would be cool but he seems to know to little about the game to be a great commentator.

Sheeva isn't Goro's wife. Goro is her husband.
I think Aris and Tom do best for pre top 8. But when it's top 8, generally the more conservative and safer UltraDavid tends to be the smart choice at an event so big.

People have such wildly different taste when it comes to commentators.

I find Pig of the Hut to be completely unbearable on the mic. He is constantly rambling about shit during the matches as if we care about his holier than thou opinion on the tier list. (A lot of people actually do care, which is sad)

Just focus on the match FFS. A year from now you're gonna look back on your tier list and laugh at how ridiculous it is. Those conversations are better had in private, not in front of 50k listeners.

It's okay to talk about what tools a character may have, and how different matchups in the game play out, but when you start making matter of fact statements about which character is better than which, then I immediately mute the stream.
