I think the autocorrect position is inconsistent honestly. Early on in the life of the game I spent hours trying to get crossover setups and couldn't seem to get him to turn at a consistent position over the opponent. I haven't dried to just drill it since then, kinda just try to react to Kano's model but I swear sometimes it'll still crossup before his model actually flips.... idk it's weird. The NJP seems consistent enough at least.

@ETC AdmiralAugustus 3,2 could tick because it's a terrible string and would be useful for possibly something other then filler dmg in a juggle. F4 would be pretty insane. I don't think he needs the midscreen honestly. We can get it off MB Kano ball... and it sucks to have only that option but I don't think a straight grappler needs it as much.

edit: but I mean.. I'll take a popup string...not gonna argue, it would definitely be beast.

also, I think B312 will turn into a tick throw on the 1.
F4 would be insane, but damnit I want an amazing grappler that's not a cowboy! I didn't even think about B3,1 being tickable... I like that a lot. I hate MB Kano Ball run cancel combos. I'm terrible at them, and I will flat out admit it. I can't get NJP to connect consistently and I don't like how I have to do 4 directional inputs and a button to do a run cancel. In time I will get better, and nail it 10/10. I only suggested the pop up string because I want meterless damage combos midscreen because I think meter is better served for enhancing specials and not as a combo extender. Oh and breaker.

Oh I know. I mentioned in my post about ticking off F4, not D4. Unless I'm blind and typed in there somewhere, and if so, disregard my stupidity lol.

Honestly guys, what are your thoughts on kanos cross over jump 1 and njp? I ask because during CEO Isaac did his crossover jump punch and it whiffed vs Ferra/torre. I've seen this happen quite often myself vs other characters too.....
I think they leave a bit to be desired as far as hitbox's go. But I agree with flappydaniel and use j2 a lot more for that reason. He seems to turn for the cross over at strange times. His jump is kinda wonky if you ask me and why I think it's like that.

you didnt, i misread it. a really cool thing with f4 i like to do is conditioning my opponent to counterpoke, then cancel f4 into parry. People really like to counterpoke against f4 because of its -5 nature and threatening get-in qualities.

I've been leaning more toward J2 as well, but mostly for jumping in. For crossup I still go for the J1.

eyyy Kabel, I hadn't even thought about F4 into Parry I had been doing F4xxKano ball for the advantage and also to catch the counter poke.
 
Man, more than anything I want Commando to be viable. Commando was the absolute 1st variation/character I ever played in the game. I know this would never be allowed... but in the weeks prior to launch I was hoping beyond hope that the parry he has would be able to parry jump in attacks. In Capcom vs. SNK2 I loved playing Geese or Yamazaki for that very reason. Honestly, if they made Kano's high parry work against jump ins, (Sub Zero's Unbreakable parry as well) the variation would be top 10. And for people that say it would op.... how exactly? Kung Lao Tempest destroys people jumping in all day for big combo punish numbers. Let the parry act as an anti air against jumpers to allow for command throw setups. Make Commando a feared variation the same way people fear an advancing Zangief or Hugo. Give him some tick throw opportunities like King or Dragunov. The string 3,2 grab should end with the grab being a REAL GRAB. To make it fair I would give it an escape opportunity to Tech it, but if that 1 string was a true grab string it would help the command throw setups so much.

try it man, i had such a cool Thing Happening today. did 3 raw f4s, eyery single one hit, then canceled the 4th into parry which was the exact moment when he blocked an counterpoked :D

Maybe you're right. Commando is fun as hell and viable IMO right now but I mean.. you're right, there's not that fear like vs Zhangief or something. The high parry parrying jumpins would also be INSANE.

Everything in the youtube video was a completely valid and pointed out reasonable issues that should be fixed.

Though these should probably be addressed separately from buff requests. I feel like having a thread suggesting both bug fixes and buffs ties his need for one unnecessarily with the other. It's pretty much inarguable he should get those fixes to clearly wonked things, but it's more arguable whether he should receive buffs.

I'd like to just see him working as intended, then look at if "working as intended" is working good enough or not.

true, but i still hope OS will go away. ím losing hope with every patch...
it has been stated multiple times by multiple high profile members of the community and paulo himself that that OSing will NOT be patched out. So get used to it.

edit: there was a different OS early on that got patched out I believe, but it was different from this simple one.

damn i missed that, did they mention why? but well, commando is a character that highly profits from that. you wanna poke? i poke back with command throw os :D

Really? Oh man. I hadn't heard about this. I remember Paulo saying they would go, but that was only right after they were discovered. I guess they couldn't figure out how to fix them....

I'm now bummed out for the rest of the day....

Command throw kinda doesn't work IMO though because you want to throw out the Command grab when your poke beforehand is blocked but with how this OS works (to my knowledge) a block will make the special not come out which will defeat the purpose.. There was another OS that existed that got patched out.

I don't get why people are bummed over this OS. It's VERY simple to do and implement into your gameplay. Anybody refusing to is being stubborn just on principle. It's literally one more button press for everybody. The only reason it sucks is because as has been stated. OS helps the rich get richer and the poor get...a little money.

so wait, the ultradavid OS with the delayed input that makes it come out on block but not on hit are gone? which is the new one? how did i miss all of that?

This OS just has you input an extra direction after you input your combo and the extra direction will cancel the Special from coming out if they block the normals beforehand. It's a way to make unsafe cancels only come out on hit confirm.

You guys got me all nervous that I'm just straight up wrong now.... but regardless I'd implement the one I'm talking about because it's simple.

I love Kommando. It is my favorite variation/character in this game. A variation based solely around grabbles and parry's? Hell yes! I want to see this variation up there! I don't wanna see it OP or anything, just very strong.

And as for the OS stuff, wasn't the only one they removed the one where you could buffer normals on block on the first frame if there was a gap? Much like buffering armored moves to blow up holes in blockstrings? I believe all the other OS's are still in. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's not that people think it's op, it's just that NRS are morally opposed to good Anti-airs on purpose. Well except lao because he has to be good in every game he's in.

EDIT: and before someone quotes me yes I know b1 exists. Not every parry character is kano.
