For me the answer is simple, as long as i need to. But I realize for some it is easier to pick another character for certain MUs. My home is BLTB, and for a Superman player I got a lot of hard MUs to get through every week. Raven, Batman, Sinestro, MMH, Aquaman for instance. I grind those MUs constantly and it feels really good when I make ground in the MU. I am a Superman through and through so I am willing to grind as long as it takes until i get it.

So guys, I wanna hear how you all feel about the grind and your experience during the grind. I realize there are a few horrible MUs in Injustice but for the most part I feel like most bad MUs can be overcome in a tournament setting.

So lets hear it.

As a ba main, I played daves, pigs, and relaxed's zod a craptillion games and realized it's not worth the headache... so pocket aqua for zod! :(

See it depends on how horrible the MU really is. For example GA Shazam and GL shazam i think are horrible. I have played both MU's a lot and have found that they are just really bad. And improvement is not happening for the most part. So a secondary is required for my horrible MU's. If the MU is not that bad but still not in my Favor i will grind it out. An example of this would be DS Shazam which is DS favor. I grinded it out to the point that i know pretty much everything about that MU.

Beware your Fears
If there is a concensus specially early in the games life that your character has a bad match-up and you don't grind it out you'll never find out for yourselve if it is really true, basically what I am saying sometimes people jump to conclusions and say it is a bad matchup it's better to find out first hand and maybe even find stuff to make it not so bad

To me it depends on WHAT makes a MU bad.

I was thoroughly frustrated with Bane v Grundy after the patch.

I noticed that the MU is bad simply because I have a 33% chance to guess right on my KD.
So the MU is bad inherently because I have a low chance of guessing right in a situation that arises alot.

On the opposite End...... I was frustrated against Raven with Grundy because I was simply approaching the MU in the wrong manner.
I was simply playing incorrectly and not adapting to the situations that arise.

The 1st MU I wouldn't grind. There really isn't anything as a PLAYER i can get better at doing.

The 2nd I def. would grind out. As a player I can exploit situations better, thus making my life easier and the MU better for me.

This also carries over in to other games as well.
I had the misfortune of using SZ against Kenshi...... which ..... you can't just grind out. Inherently, the MU is one sided and there isn't much I can do. I actually had to learn a new character just for this reason.

TL;DR: If I feel that as a player I can change something that I'm doing, i'll grind. If there is something that inherently I can't change, then i'll learn what I can, and do my best to adapt to my opponent in the short term.

Fun topic.

I use Joker so bad MUs are always given to me at the character select screen. I'm to the point on this game where I'll play the 7-3's and Zod for only so long until I say fuck it and leave. 6-4s i will play the entire set until finish.

The majority of this community doesn't understand really bad MUs until they play Joker. Theres some MUs where you're playing and you have to try SO HARD to the point where you are just saying to yourself why are you even trying? Does it even matter lol.

Grinding the MU is just tiring when its a super hard MU to begin with. At least with a shitter character.

Kaz...... I'm already a Fiddle.
I'm an extreme character loyalist. I always say I'm going to pick up a pocket but never do. I honestly still enjoy this game due to playing as nightwing. I grind every match up as long as I need to. If I lose terribly or do bad I grind that mu and learn what I did wrong. Winning bad Mus is a great experience and I honestly find it as an entertaining part of fighting games. It feels
very rewarding after the times you
struggled.

Tell me about it. Beating Bane, Flash, Zod or Killer Frost players that are really good makes me feel very happy.

As long as it takes. In MK9, I loved playing KL's bad match-ups. In fact, after a while, those became the only match-ups I enjoyed (In fairness, I always enjoyed fighting Jax, despite the match-up being in Kung Lao's favor). In Injustice, it's a bit more frustrating for some reason, but I still enjoy playing Batman's bad match-ups, which very few agree on anyway...except for Aquaman of course, fuck that character.

Me being a character loyalist I love the grind of bad MUs. The reward at the end is great. When I started the long grind to fight Aquaman and Raven, at first it was mind numbing to try to get in on Raven and also trying to open Aquaman up. I would constantly grind and ask questions. Now playing against those characters are fun although very hard and it is now paying off because i actully have answers. So now for me its tuning up my overall play so i can capitalize when i see the oppurtunity.

Shit, ask @MITDJT when we were playing casuals at WCW i requested to play his AM jus so i can grind it more with a different AM player. Btw that set was really fun.
