Expressing Disappointment

It's simple.. We normalize the superman.
Okay, a lot of people seem to mistake me for a casual gamer/fighting game player.

I am not. I am not the best, but I am definately not casual. I am Lv60, I have played 1044 online matches and won 630 of them. I have over 100 wins with Ares, over 50 wins with Grundy and Flash and I am working with Joker right now. I know how to Clash, to Push Block, to Punish, to do Cross Ups, to do combos etc.

You people are mentioning the projectiles thing way more than you should, only 2-3 of you actually adressed my other concerns and saw that I was right. Projectiles and zoning characters are not the only thing I mentioned......
You claimed grundy was overpowered, which he is very obviously not. The amount of matches you have played means nothing next to the amount of knowledge you have about the game and how to be successful. It is very obvious the only thing holding you back is your willingness to learn.

I'm just telling you these things to help you understand/grow -- but to be 100% honest, anyone who uses what you said as justification of not being a casual player, is a Casual Player :p
So wait. If I am using some low-tier characters on purpose, that makes me a casual player? Huhhhh? I can pull off combos with Ares, Flash and Joker, so that makes me a casual player. Ummm.....I fail to see the logic in this, would you care to elaborate?

I know how to be successful in the game. I am not looking to get high on leaderboards, I am looking to have fun without abusing the same 4 moves everyone does online.

Gesture Required Ahead

Get on that hook
- Balance. Just terrible. Superman is way too overpowered, Grundy is way too overpowered.....Green Lantern is the best zoning character, Aquaman will do down 2, down 2, down 2.. Meanwhile, I have to stragle to play with The Flash, Joker, Luthor etc. Great job on that one. I see the same 4-5 characters all the time, I use Ares, Flash, Joker, Luthor and I get destroyed many times because Superman will cancel in a frozen breath from the two random hits he got in, leading to a 35+ damage combo and then full screen lasers. Isn't that fun???

- Gameplay. Awful. Let's say I forget everything I said so far, and if I have one gripe....why the hell does a ->fighting game<- encourage keepaway and zoning? You get close to Superman, he will do forward 2/3 foward 2/3 frozen breath wall bounce laser. You get close to GL, he does the grab. Grab grab grab grab. Raven, full screen grab. Deathstroke.....do I even have to say? Aquaman, Trident Toss/From the Deep/Trident Scoop all day long. Black Adam, Divekick/Full screen lightning. Sinestro, Meteor/ laser bullets or whatever. Doomsday, just jumps in space and comes down on your head with a vengeance. Then, he meter burns it to make it more exciting. Ahhhh, interactibles.....all day long man. "I'll just throw this robot at you. And this laser gun. And this little car. And this dumpster. And I will do full screen lazers or guns. Yay, I know how to play a fighting game."

As in, if your justification of not being casual is "I have this many XP points in the game, I have this online W/L record and this many wins with these characters, and I know how to push block and do combos", then you are kind of misunderstanding what people mean by "Casual Player".

Again, there's nothing wrong with it -- but it's a pretty big difference in perspective.

AlexKidd I feel like most of your annoyances with the game can be solved by going into a lobby and finding other people of a similar skill level to play until you get better. Look for people you enjoy fighting against and add them as friends. That way you won't be playing people that are much better than you and if someone is just using a tactic you seem cheap then play someone else. If you actually want to get better then looking at the character forums on this site will give you lots of information on combos and there are plenty of videos showcasing high level players. Flash is a top 5 character completely based on up close fighting and 50/50's who can move really quickly to get in. Learn some of his easier combos in practice mode as well as his 50/50's and watch some gameplay of him. I'm not a huge fan of Injustice either but the reasons you named are pretty easily remedied. Also, don't waste your time with star labs, it will only annoy the shit out of you and make you want to stop playing

I understand both of these statements, and I was not expecting problems to get fixed by coming here. As I stated at the bottom of my original post, this is simply me venting about a videogame. Not the most mature thing to do, but I just felt like mentioning some things that are still very prevalent, months after the game has released.

Good to vent. But better to do it in a related thread (rather than make your own) or in your status...

I truly do hate a lot about this game. I think a lot of character designs are retarded. And I agree with your character selection having problems. Flash is the exception as he isn't bad but he's harder to use than most of the kast...

There is always a way around something. If people are abusing the same move, you should know what to do about it and counter it when they try to do it over and over. I play the Joker as well and have very little trouble with "spamspamspam" OR Grundy. Did you know that if you do a low parry with Joker it makes Grundy's throws miss?

If you are not looking to play in tournaments or to become the best player you can be with a character and are unwilling to learn everything about a game then you are a casual player fyi

I really dont understand what this thread is about. Yes, you can have problems with the game, no one is saying it's perfect. But I honestly don't know what to say. You complain about zoning and such, but don't ask how to deal with it, or ways to get around it. If you asked for help, TYM would certainly help you out. Just complaining about it just proves that you are a casual player, which is fine.

If you don't like how the game plays, don't play it. Simple enough.

Netcode probably won't change, Star labs definitely won't change, iOS definitely won't change and game modes won't change most likely. Also I believe the bonuses you get from achieving whatever will not change either (honorable mention Superman costume for beating the game - what a piece of shit of a prize). So there's no reason to discuss these at all.
Balancing however is still in progress at the moment. Want to play the game - practice your chars, can't deal with often changes - drop the game util last patch (or complete edition).
So the only issue I see here is that you don't like the gameplay, which is the one thing that will never change. Either adapt to it, or just drop the game altogether. No reason to play a game that you do not enjoy.
Also broken expectations is understandable. I had high hopes for Wonder Woman's primary skin once. #Manfacemanshouldersmanbody

The thing is, if your opinion of the game's balance is that Grundy, and Sinestro's zoning, are OP.. I wouldn't expect that to change with a patch.

If anything, characters like that will get better now rather than worse.

Zer0 Hundr3d I am very glad I entertain you.

CrimsonShadow My justification of not being casual is not that. I said that simply to show people that I did not get the game yesterday, I have plenty of online experience. I don't know how you people justify who is casual and who is not, maybe I need to get the same high-tier characters as everyone and get a fighting stick to not be considered casual player? Is this how it is? I thought that if you get good with some characters, no matter if they are considered high, mid or low-tier then it's all the same.

By calling me a "casual player" you think that I cannot deal with the zoning/keepaway online. That, is not the case. Dash between Deathstroke's gun, block low when playing with GL to avoid the low kick into grab, simply block Raven's grab, then punish. The fact that I mentioned the zoning/keepaway is just one thing, not the purpose of this thread which apparently has become now.

Prinz I see your points and I agree. Those things will not change, but it doesn't mean that I should not mention them. If I was someone who does trophy hunting, I'd be way, way more upset than this.

I think you feel like I'm saying it as an insult, but I'm not. There's nothing wrong with being casual. Right now I would consider myself slightly above "Advanced Casual", because that's all I have the time to be; but I'm fine with that. All it means is that I'm not training the game at a level where I'm trying to become one of the best players of my character in the game, and learn the ins and outs of every single matchup the game has to offer.

It doesn't stop me from beating some guys that have scenes, regularly play in tournament or whatever. It just means that I'm not going to become the next Pig of the Hut unless I start taking it much more seriously as a player and dedicate a lot more study/practice time.

It's OK to mention them, because that's just how it is. But don't expect a lot of people to agree, since most people who play the game have accepted these things. So you'll get bodied in some form or another for bashing the game.

Grundy think you handsome!
You are better off removing the balance and gameplay part of your post, no one on this site will take that part seriously especially when one of your mains is a top 5 character. And NRS is already planning a huge patch to deal with most characters.

Everything else you said I can either agree or understand your point of view.
