Mars Volta - Frances the Mute (Also hard to call. Anything pre-Octahedron is amazing.)

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

Too many honorable mentions to list lol. I absolutely love any form of music.
I like it. I just listened to Merriweather Post Pavilion a few days ago, I was really close to putting it on my list.

Top 5 albums from my life hmm..

KoRn - Self titled.... First album that got me properly into metal, because of this album I know who other metal bands are.. I know there are a lot who like to hate on KoRn now days but some of their stuff undeniably awesome. And this is still an album I never get bored of

Strapping young lad - Heavy as a really heavy thing..... Found these on accident, was watching some guitar lessons online one day and seen "Devin townsend" showing some stuff he does on guitar. I liked the sound of the riffs so bought SYL's first album. Pure awesome.

Deftones - Around the fur..... So the singer is a dickhead, but the music they make is awesome, its different to most other metal. These guys you either love or hate, iv never met some who just thought deftones were "meh". They were either "deftones are fucking awesome" or "wtf is this ear poisen".

Sepultura - ARISE.... First thrash metal band I got into, and this album was when they were at the top of their game. I caught myself a sweet black eye in the moshpit during the song ARISE by being swung around directly into someones elbow. It was AWESOME!!

Number 5: Megadeth / Older album... Cant specify.

Oh, my days !
As a vocalist I'll list my favorites, although you will see an obvious bias to a particular type. Also I'll keep it to fairly modern popular stuff (ie no opera or anything). No particular order this time.
Myles Kennedy
Bruce Dickinson
James LaBrie (I'm gonna get some shit for this)
Freddie Mercury
Ronnie James Dio
Russell Allen
Rob Halford
Matt Shadows (say what you will about his band, this guy can actually sing)
Jorn Lande
Adam Levine (once again say what you will about his band, but he can sing)
Geoff Tate (lost it over time though )
Axl Rose
Steve Perry
Steven Tyler
Lzzy Hale
Chris Cornell
Richie Kotzen
If I think of more I'll edit in.
Michael Kiske ?
Zach Stevens ?

Oh, my days !
I decided to limit one album per artist for myself.

1. ... And Justice for All - Metallica
2. Awake - Dream Theater
3. Persistence of Time - Anthrax
4. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden
Tied for 5. Rust in Peace - Megadeth
Tied for 5. Hell Awaits - Slayer
Oh God! Here is a guy that has SUCH a classic metal taste!

The Fall of Ideals was there best album, period.

My favorite Metalcore album of all time. Shannon Lucas is a boss.
Just to offer a different viewpoint, I'd say that while it's listenable, it's pretty mediocre and a step down from the previous two. The drumming is really the only good thing about it, and even then, it's nothing noteworthy. And now they've kind of become a joke with their more recent material.
