Blue Blurs for Life!
As the Kombat Cup finale neared its end, the Stream.Me crew dropped a bombshell on the NRS community by announcing a competitive series for Injustice 2...War of the Gods!
Like its predecessor, War of the Gods consists of a series of weekly preliminary brackets with points and cash prizes on the line. Competitors can earn points that will increase their chances at qualifying for a Season Finale in September, where they will compete for the title of War of the Gods Season Champion. A total prize pool of $15,000 will be up for grabs throughout the entire series, with $10,000 going towards the Top 6 players for the finale.
Because the series is brought to you by Stream.Me, War of the Gods will naturally be broadcast on their platform at this page. Additionally, players will now sign up at Gauntlet GG, an expansion on StreamMe's tournament community. Entry for all brackets is completely free.
There is no age limit this time. However, for underage winners, their parents will be required to provide information before the winnings can be dispersed electronically. Due to popular intel, Injustice 2 will be featured on the Playstation 4 (but there have been hints of something happening over at Xbox One, so stay tuned for that).
Perhaps the biggest change to note is the fact that the preliminary brackets will:
- run on Saturdays with Top 8 finals taking place every Tuesday.
- all brackets, not just the finale, will be running the double elimination format.
Injustice 2 comes out for both consoles on May 16th! Release date for PC platform has yet to be disclosed. You'll have half a week to practice before War of the Gods kicks off, so good luck to all competitors!
