Good stuff as usual Pig.

Maybe now somebody will actually duck the "shittiest move" made in any FG till date which is TF and not try to block it or what's most common run throu it.

Also if anybody still thinks that Kenshi is top 5 or top 10 or close to it then... he should rewatch this video and/or pack it up.

I've been using primarily balanced since I swapped over to mostly kenshi from sub zero and for a while I believed this was his best variation. I'm thinking now that this was some kind of mk9 hangover I was having combined with me wanting to zone heavy and play lame. However as the past couple of weeks have gone by I've started to see the people I play punishing the holes you've highlighted here. Honestly I was really hoping something in here would change what I've been thinking about balanced but mostly it just confirmed my worst fears about the character lol. I've been working with possessed a little so it looks like it's probably time to start moving most of my effort there. Good stuff

This has collectively been one of the best/most informative series about a character ever done.

Poor Balanced :(. I can still hold out hope that Kenjutsu will be able to hold its own ground over time in the face of Possessed's apparent superiority, because I just don't have the same fire for it. I fell hard for the idea of getting to play a 3D MK style of Kenshi as opposed to another take on his MK9 slow and steady style, even though Possessed looks badass enough on its own to make it worth the while.
Either way, I've learned almost everything I could hope to know up to this point to move forward with hope for success. As always, #ThankYouBasedPig.

Noo.. I like being tagged it makes me feel like I'm not a ghost.

And this is the variation I play the most (although I don't play him as a main anymore) so I can't wait to see what your throwing out their.

I use this variation the most and it sucks to see so many glaring holes, after watching these videos I will slowly start to change back to possessed.
I do feel like you can do more baiting in this varition though, like the wiff 2 looks like command and usually leads to reflect or teleport punish.
Thanks for the amazing work love watching and improving my personal skill with Kenshi, wish more people would do more character specific guides like this.

Just FYI people Tele Flurry was STEALTH nerfed back in late june (from about -34 to - 53 now) for some godforsaken reason making the viability of this variation suffer greatly, so the buff actually did help a lot at first and then they re-nerf the damn move.

See this is why I was confused. I remember it being -30ish on whiff until Pig told me the other day in a different thread. I couldn't believe it and it makes absolutely no sense.

I'm about to watch the guide now. Pig you put out some of the best and most informative stuff in any FGC out there. Thanks again. I know the entire community might have a heart attack if Kenshi received more buffs, but dare I say, he needs it when compared to other characters in the Top 10.

This is good news to me. I think if Kenshi variations were matchups, Possessed VS Kenjutsu would go down as a 6-4, but a reasonably winnable one. They both feel very competent in their own ways in reliable/patient hands; Possessed being the safer, more familiar style, and Kenjutsu being the high-risk/high-reward variant than's become commonplace in MKX. It just sucks that Balanced ended up, as you put it, with more holes than a porn star. It feels like picking Noob Saibot over Kabal; yeah, you could do it if it makes you happy, but why if you don't have to? That's why I won't pick up Sub even though he was my other half in MK9...I learned how hard it is to put all my faith in/chips on a low-yielding option, and it isn't worth it with how good other characters (Tremor, Predator, Liu Kang, etc) are fleshing out to be.

I've always thought Balanced was the worst of all of his variations, he can't really do anything besides react to things which isn't the way to play this game. I think Kenjutsu is the better than possessed though, he might be require more execution that the others but he's more suited for this kind of game.

There is also one more thing on cons side which isn't mention in video (or im being super tired and missed it) @Pig Of The Hut.

You can actually just run under far TKS (yeah, from full screen) on reaction and full combo punish.

Balanced is crap. Most people are just lazy (don't check frame data on Kenshi moves) or rushdown fools who want nothing more then run to you and do 50/50.

stupid stealth nerf ruining my main, well im going to grind it out in the lab to try and find some new stuff when i get home, im a kenshi loyalist but i have been working on predator and tremor lately since i like having a trifecta of characters in fighting games, but kenshi will always be my best and my favorite. anyways unfortunately i will be gone for about 2 weeks to take care of my grandma so can @Pig Of The Hut or @DarksydeDash or @Immortal inform me of future developments for balanced kenshi? it would be greatly appreciated if one or all of you guys would
