"I Have Returned!" AK/BYS Smarr wins Atlanta Kombat Arena #7!

Smarrgasm

What's a Smarrgasm?
Friday has come and gone again which means yet another hype filled meet up and tournament from the crazy ones in Atlanta. With the patch now being out for some time, how will the players adjustments go this time? The seventh installment of the Atlanta Kombat Arena would pit 18 fierce competitors against one another with any one of them with the chance to grab victory. Last week's champion Saltface was not in attendance but many other regulars were and a special guest in Bibulus made a surprise visit to the Atlanta scene.

After much heated action, the tournament dwindled down to the Top 4 with BYS Smarr and Trepound in Winner's Finals and AK Harold and Reno Racks in Loser's.

In Winner's Finals, we witnessed a runback of a match from last week's AKA with Trepound and Smarr facing off. Last week, Trepound convinvingly beat Smarr with his Hawkgirl and finished 2nd so would it be revenge for Smarr or a continuance for Trepound? The set began just as any other with these two as Smarr stayed away mostly and Tre used his intense rushing style. The first match would come down to the wire but Tre would close it out with a great use of the Injustice Pig. Game 2 was much the same but with Smarr able to take another close match making it 1-1. Game 3 saw a change of scenery and another close match with a crazy exchange in the corner at the end Tre was able to regain the advantage. Game 4 brought about something that was only thought to be myth. Martian Man Hunter was selected by Smarr. The selection paid off as Smarr tele'd, orb'd, and pillar'd his way to victory. Then Trepound had a new character of his own up his sleeve. MEOW, it's Catwoman. Apprently him and 16 bit will always play the same character. Smarr was not able to adjust to the matchup and some clutch play by Tre closed the set out and made it a classic 3-2 and saw Tre advance to Grand Finals for another guaranteed Top 2 finish. Smarr would have to make his way from the Bracket of Altenrative Success.

Speaking of that bracket, Harold had been on a warpath ever since being sent there in the first round 2-0 by a local Shazam player SubzeroSmokeRain. After making it all the way to Loser's Semifinals he would now take on the loved by all Reno Racks. These two are known to go back and forth so anyone could win. Game 1 was a close affair until Harold opened up Reno in the second life bar for a "Normalised" Flash combo to take a huge life lead and go up 1-0. The next match would be quite hilarious, but mostly because of some stream shenanigans thanks to NightwingDayZero and Glass Sword trying to powerfully commentate through the laughter of 30 people in the background. The match would go on however and Harold would take the set with a nailbiter in Game 2 by forcing Reno to the corner and making him guess high low over and over until his head spun.

Now Loser's Finals was upon us. Harold vs Smarr, a battle of previous AKA Champions. Harold has recently been Smarr's master mercilessly beating him in multiple tournaments. Smarr was out to change things up and even started with his Martian Man Hunter on lead. The decision deemed terrible though as he was unable to even take a life bar from Harold so it was a quick change of character and back in down 1-0. Black Adam proved to be the correct choice as Smarr got his favorite stage (either Asylum Stage) and quickly took game after game to close the set out 3-1. Now Smarr would begin the trek of Grand Finals from the loser's bracket side. A reset was needed if he wanted a chance to claim this tournament as his own. Trepound was on the other end and had the advantage from the get go after winning the last 2 sets they had played in tournament.

The set began with each choosing their respective mains and going right into it. Smarr would yet again get Asylum on the random stage and would take advantage starting off 1-0 and closing the match out as all Black Adam's do with the Orbs of Seth. Tre would attempt to change the stage but it wouldnt work as somehow the Asylum came up again for Smarr. Game 2 was a convincing one as Smarr felt even more at home on his favorite stage. Tre would then change characters as well as stage going back to Catwoman. Tre would start off well but Black Adam was just too much and the bracket was reset 3-0 and a clean slate was set. After the reset Smarr looked even more in control as the first match was a dominant one with almost a 150% health win. Tre would continue with Catwoman but Smarr looked to have the adaptation complete as he again was not forced to his second life bar. Tre had one more trick up his sleeve to try and he pulled it out in Harley Quinn. Tre would attempt to emulate Saltface and would do well in the beginning but the dictator had too much power (and drones) for Harley to stay in it. Smarr would win 3-0 in the bracket reset for an overall 6-0 run in Grand Finals.

This marks the 3rd Atlanta Kombat Arena victory for Smarr and it looks like Black Adam is still able to hold his own (even when played by Fraudgasm, Sajam). Who knows what will happen next week in the Atlanta Kombat Arena? Tune in to find out!

Man I stayed up too late. Alright I'm going to go bump my thread looking for Deathstroke players. Also I should look for Catwomen players.
Good shit to Smarrgasm.

Truth, justice and the American way.
I love watching AK's stream. You guys are all bro-tier.

Grats on your win Smarr. I'm glad to see the time you spent learning your character hasn't gone to waste with 1.06.

"Is that like a haircut?" absolutely murdered me. Props to Glass Sword for his straight faced commentary. Going back to watch it - Reno vs. Harold was such an insane match.

The whole power top thing last night was funny as hell. The stream video doesn't do justice on how hard and loud everyone in the room (with the exception of Harold, Reno and Glass) were laughing. Everybody but those guys paused their games and laughed their asses off. It was awesome.
