What's the replay based around...loot grinding? How's the story?

Replay is based around online and offline play. Once you beat a characters story you can play them online and continue to get exp and skill points, but with friends. Also, there is loot grinding as well. Story is pretty straight forward, but this game is meant as a game play experience and not story.
