It's all so very confusing.
Guide gets better and better. Manta is huge fun to play.
100%. Let the opponent hang themselves. Throw the occasional low, overhead, and throw in there for added hopelessness.I've found though what he lacks in big combos is made up for in f213 pressure to keep them in corner and follow up with ray for chip. Once panic sets in, punish them on attempts to escape corner.
I only try to figure out max damage.will you add more combos?? for midlescreeN?? will you add more stuff??
and also can i ask you something all these combos are the most damage combos for black manta??
Hey man, responding way too late and I apologize. I only just now saw this post. The D2 combos all assume grounded hit. I need to see if Manta even has any interesting possibilities off anti-air D2. B3 conversions seem unrealistic in the heat of a match to me but I could be wrong.@Chernyy Volk
Dumb question. But are the D2 combos listed supposed to be his anti air combos, or are those just combos capable off of a raw grounded D2, or both? I'm going to try my hand at picking up Manta so I'm compiling a list of all of his combos into categories like mid screen, corner, anti air, ect. to better practice each scenario. Also great work on the guide so far! You have no idea how awesome it is to be able to read about what a character can do before actually picking them up. Tbh if it wasn't for this guide I would've probably passed on learning Manta. Thanks bro.
Lol it's cool. I really appreciate what you're doing for the character. If it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't be anywhere near as interested in picking up the character. It's terribly out dated since I abandoned TYM. One of these days it will be overhauled. This is one of the best guides I've seen, great work Cherny.
It's a conversion based on not having the gravity.so, how come i see people do float combo's in the corner into j1 j1? or j1 j2? why not j3?
what kind of conversion? gimme an example. It's a conversion based on not having the gravity.
Basically, lets say I'm in the corner and I land a raw f3, I do my j3 too late so my b11u3~4, j3, j1 won't work. You do j1, j1 instead. Getting the timing down to get j3, j1 consistently in the corner is really hard to do in a match.what kind of conversion? gimme an example.
i see, ok. i usually have my own bnb's too, which usually squeeze out a bit more damage than usual.Basically, lets say I'm in the corner and I land a raw f3, I do my j3 too late so my b11u3~4, j3, j1 won't work.
