Beating Mileena D+4 and Kitana D+1?

I cannot successfully start up any kind of offense against players aware of how powerful these are.

Mileena is especially problematic. I've seen people say to try to crossover jk, but in my experience that's exactly what the Mileena player wants. The instant you try it, you get rolled into a combo. When I face a Mileena that knows both how to abuse D+4 and how to not stupidly throw out unsafe rolls and drop kicks, I feel completely powerless and usually lose. It's like I can literally do nothing.

Any tips that actually work?

the only thing I know is that "baiting is the key" , but obviously it's better said than done

Alot of the times if im in the range of a mileena poke ill try to jump back into a instant downball, but sometimes that doesnt work and ill downball right into her poke. A good mileena player is a hard matchup for kano in my opinion.

The problem with Kitana's D1 is that she leans forward and completely gets out of range of jump kick making it pretty much impossible to punish in any way unless you are using KL or Reptile.
