Question - Goro What do we think NRS will change about Goro with the next balance patch?

Universal: Make F2 faster.

Tigrar: give Flamethrower a better damage radius.

Other than that + whatever glitches need prodding, Fangs is fine by me and I feel like KW will gain enough from an F2 buff on its own.
 
I'm not sure what the next huge patch will give Goro, but I do know some buffs I'd like for the big guy.

F2 being faster on startup. F214's buff is made better with this and stuff like F212+4 -> D4 xx PW to bait mashing out or just using one of the 3 strings attached to this button is more viable. Also, either speed up his D2 or increase the horizontal range of U1/2 so he has a consistent meterless AA. Even with the buff given to U1/2, I feel like AA-ing with the move feels like it's in the same category as trying a cool, impractical combo online in terms of ease of executing it. Those are the realistic buffs I can see happening that I'd like. The stuff that's probably not going to happen but I/probably other Goro's would appreciate is a different story.

Increased movement overall. This means less floaty jump, walk cycle speed up (startup of walking is actually really good, so leave that alone), slightly less recovery frames from dashing and a run that's actually usable. Goro can get zoned out hard by the likes of Kitana, HQT Pred or anyone with competent zoning, ESPECIALLY if he has no meter. This statement might go against what some people may think, but this is Goro's biggest weakness at the moment imo.

Buff command grab so that it's easier to tick off of strings instead of being able to tick only off of a single normal. This would make him stronger in offense obviously. He doesn't have 50/50 potential or guaranteed pressure like run cancel characters, so just increase his ability to tick throw.

those are the buffs I can see being possible/the buffs I'd personally like to see for Goro once KP2 releases. One or two of these changes being implemented is enough to help Goro out imo, aside from fixes like what Gruff mentioned about his F4. Here's hoping we get something.

Take with an EXTREMELY SMALL grain of salt but I've been told that beta Goro has Erron Black-like tick grabs and gets guaranteed EX stomp off of command grab. I have no way of confirming if this is true or if it will remain in the game after the beta. Just putting it out there.

With the direction of these buffs given to characters with command grabs I would be really surprised is Goro didn't get the same treatment.

F2 to be a tick throw would be amazing.
Make B3xPunchwalk a true block string.

Can we just delete him from the game? And also (no troll) lets make his armor have only have one hit of armor on all his punchwalk type moves and not two because hes plus on it too isnt he?

If you don't know even basics like if punchwalk is plus you really shouldn't post at all talking about balance. That's the main problem. People who know nothing feel compelled to comment. All versions of punch walk are -5. Ex fang spin is -6. Educate yourself.

I think F2 should definitely get a faster startup. It's one of the changes that I've been hoping for the most. Improving his mobility, especially his run and backdash is a must as well. If that command grab buff does make it into the full game, Goro's offense will be even scarier. Personally, I think it'd be cool if his ex shokan grab launched them for a full combo. Or at least in his DF variation, because they get popped up a little when he stomps on them at the end of the animation, but we can't really do anything after that.

Punchwalk is not plus on block. It's -5. And his entire game plan revolves around punch walk. Aside from some really good pokes and a very fast command grab, he's nothing without punchwalk.

Punchwalk is not plus on block. It's -5. And his entire game plan revolves around punch walk. Aside from some really good pokes and a very fast command grab, he's nothing without punchwalk.
oh i thought it was plus, atleast its safe, i get that but i still think aving two hits of armor is kinda ridicoulous but isee why now, still annyoing to fight against because after a hard knockdown he has that overhead stomp thing that you can barely react to, is there options against that?

i got plus and safe mixeed up as i heard that info a while ago, i also do not have Goro so i cant check for my self and practice against him

So why are you commenting on what he needs or doesn't need? I should comment on what Maya in Killer Instinct needs even though I didn't buy her and have never looked at any of her frame data or labbed her. Does that sound like it makes sense?

Doesn't ferra/torr have a move that has 3 hits of armor? As for the stomp, it's unblockabe, but you can avoid it by running or dashing out of it.

i know that whenever i play against him alot, i cant armor break his punchwalk because he has two hits of armor on it, i know that with te online lag the punchwalk is safe but its basically plus because i cant poke after then i have to eat mix ups after mix ups all because of one armored punchwalk and by then hel have built another bar and as soon as i get out of the pressure i knock him down and its ex punchwalk all over again and i was asking if he was plus so we can all take a chill pill real quick

i was just messing around, i hate fighting goro online but id rather fight goro then mileena or venomous dvorah and yeah thanks il check it out,
 
To be completely honest, how does Goro benefit from the command grab buff in MKXL/KP2/w.e you wanna call the next big patch ?

With Jax and Kano, they have tick-throw games off their own ridiculous buttons like F3 for Jax and Kano's B1, so not having to worry about the opponent potentially getting hit by said buttons and committing to the grab buffs those variations easily. If this buff is a universal change to all command grabs in the game, I can see Kotal and even someone like Jason benefitting from it since their tick-throw options are tied to good buttons/strings, but Goro's tick-throw options are tied to down pokes and B3. With this buff in mind, B3 xx Grab will consistently work regardless of the opponent blocking the B3, but that's it. You can't combo off down pokes in the game, so D1 xx grab will still whiff. Or are we assuming that Goro would get the grab buff applied to him AND be given better tick-throw options as well? Not trying to make it sound like it's impossible, considering that exact thing happened to Kano in his Commando variation. But current Goro doesn't seem to get much mileage from it imo.

Make one of his lowpokes -1 on block, change startup to 8-9f
Make punchwalk cancelable
Slightly better recovery on TF Fireballs
Either let Ex-telestomp launch, or increase its damage
Rework Ex-Dragon torch (couldn't find any use for this move), maybe give it reliable armor
I know it's just a wish list but an armored wake up launcher that's unblockable just screams potentially broken. It's a guaranteed wake up 30+ percent if it launches. That would completely eliminate the possibility of keeping him cornered. Which you can only do until he has a bar, as he already has one safe wake up with super armor.

I think I was the only one that said Goro would benefit from the command grab buff lol. I was just referring to his B3 xx command grab tick throw. I Iike using either b3 or 3d3 after landing a hit with d3, due to its +12 hit advantage. And after using b3, I cancel into punchwalk, and once I've conditioned them to expect the punch walk after b3, I use shokan grab to punish them for respecting it. B3 xx punchwalk isn't a true blockstring though, so I still get blown up by armored moves sometimes. You're right about d1/d3 xx shokan grab still whiffing on hit, but thanks to the command grab buff, he gets another option since I can just use b3 xx shokan grab without having to make the opponent respect punchwalk, or worry about them pushing buttons after I use b3. He definitely doesn't benefit from this buff as much as kano or kotal, but it's better than nothing. :p
