What is the best ender for cutthroat combos? I'm having very inconsistent results with f4xxball. I have hit it and am sure I just need more practice but is there a consistent timing for it? I've also tried 112 and 32 but most recommendations seem to lean toward f4 and it seems to be the most forgiving of the 3.

Examples of the basic bnbs are just 112 exSlice f212 f4xxball or f212 f212 f4xxball

Thoughts?

This is a gimmick, but seeing ho Kano's d4 is sub's d4 from MK9 I figured I do something silly. Ex knife throw is +5 on block. So, what I do is hit d4 and it d4 hits I confirm into EX Knife throw. It looks something like this:

D4 - Did it hit? - No - Back to poking.

I sat down with Kano last night and got a feel for him, he's now easily one of my favorite characters in the game.

After a few hours of practice, I was able to get the following combo down in the corner (Cybernetic):

112 xx DB1, 112 xx BF3EX (cancel after 1st hit), B312, B312, 112 xx BF3 for 43%

The timing is a bit tricky, but it's flashy. Whether or not it's a useful combo remains to be seen when we have a 41% no meter, or a 39% one meter that's much easier to pull off.

I can upload a video when I get home from work today if needed.

Could be me, but is it really hard to hit the ball after F212 F212 F4 BALL !!
They need to be quite high up to hit it.
To hit it consistently, I've been getting the moves out as fast as possible. After each f212, input the next command as soon as Kano sheaths his knives.

im am positive that the midscreen combo isnt hitbox dependent. i could be wrong but i play a friend who uses the smallest hitbox characters in the game. it could make it harder though i honestly dont know

I haven't read through this whole thread, so sorry if somebody already asked this, but shouldn't there be an explanation at the beginning of the Cutthroat variation that explains the 3 different damage percentages, for people new to Kano that just want to jump in and try some combos?

I know the 2nd and 3rd are for Power Up and EX Power Up, but i had to dig for it. just saying.

Full Combo Punishable
Long time lurker, first time poster, Kano scrub.

If you're crap like me and have trouble landing 112 in the corner following DF2 and the like, may I suggest you drop 112 in favor of 32? You'll end up sacrificing 1-2%, but 32 is FAR more forgiving during a combo (in my limited experience).

For instance, consider the B121 xx DF2, 112 xx BF3 corner combo. Speaking as an individual with shit execution, opting for 32 instead of 112 makes it much easier to pull off consistently. If you screw up 112, early or late, you'll whiff the third crucial hit and that's that. It's possible to drop 32 of course, but it's not nearly as demanding as 112. Though I was sketchy before, I rarely drop this combo now. It ends up being 29% instead of 30%.

(corner) B312, 11, 32 xx BF3 (29%, loses 1%) *admittedly, the 112 here is much easier
(corner, meter) B121 xx DF2, 32 xx DB1EX, JI1, 32 xx BF3 (38%, loses 2%) [opting for a NJP instead of JI1 might make up the deficit, will try later EDIT: Nope, still 38%]

I also have issues with NJP timing following certain strings, such as F212. This combo was giving me fits: (corner) F212, NJP, B312, 3 xx BF3 (32%).

Thankfully, while trying to find the path of least resistance, I stumbled across F212, B312, 32 xx BF3 (32%). It's user friendly and doesn't drop damage.

Apologies in advance if I botched any of the input jargon above.

I doubt the pros will find value in this, but if it helps even one fellow garbage player ... time well spent. :)

I know muscle memory is important in execution, so the answer to 'how do you perform the most damaging combos online' is obviously 'practice'.

That said, which combos (for any variation) are more forgiving on the inputs? I'm trying to balance damage and online utility, and tight juggles that depend a lot on muscle memory cannot be entirely depended on due to muscle fatigue, lag, etc.

Is it more practical to do something like Cutthroat 112-EXdb1-njp-d2 and sacrifice damage for consistency, or keep practicing the more damaging follow ons from njp?

I would guess that you're waiting too long after the DB1. Hit your next string immediately after the DB1.

The whole idea is corner carry. From midscreen, all of the above midscreen combos push them into the corner with you close enough to do shenanigans and avoid [most] wakeups.
