The changes are not stupid.

What is really stupid is that Beta is USA only. Tyler said nothing about it, NRS and Ed Boon twitters haven't said anything about it. Only on by a God forsaken forum you could have discovered this. Waiting for e-mail entire day with Beta code like an idiot...

So it's a shorter amount of time to recover both players stamina? I don't have the beta so all of my info is coming in from this thread in bits and pieces.
I didn't say that and no I haven't measured.

As an A-list main , getting in and having my combo broken , then basically losing my only tool in the neutral ? ( f3 )Doesn't sound like it's gonna be a change that effects the cast equally. Breaker usage will dramatically change matchups.

Sorry, misread your last response. But I do think it would make sense that of both players lose stamina they both recover it much quicker. Both players without stamina for that long could be almost too slow imo. But once we get concrete data on if the stamina recovery time changed is the time to have this conversation.

Cause it's not like A-List doesn't have an advancing armor move that can blow past most projectiles.

Or, y'know, you could show patience and walk in.

Or you could walk, make the read on a projectile and jump on for a full combo.

Johnny has such a floaty jump paired with already weak jump ins , any decent player would anti air his ass every time. You can duck the ex shadow kick , and that requires a bar , which was just spent on breaker. So unless I had 3 bars I'm fucked? Yeah you could just walk in , but without stamina I can't do anything with f3 on block except get punished. F34 isn't safe in A-list. This new meta would definitely hurt him.

Okay. Let me break this down:

If you read a projectile, you use MB Shadow kick. They can't duck and throw a projectile at the same time. So if you see them ducking because they're looking for the kick, start running. The moment you read a projectile, cancel the run with armor.

It doesn't matter if he has a floaty jump.

Why? Because even the highest level of player can't anti-air while in an animation of throwing a projectile.

So you stand just outside jump distance, bait the projectile, then jump in for a full punish.

High level Cages do it all the time. This is fighting games 101.

Without stamina, you could cancel F3 into MB Green balls, which is +4. Or you could do d4, or you could use his overhead. All of these options are safe.

Holy fuck. I don't even PLAY Cage and I seem to understand the character better.

It's not like the breaker sends you full screen. You can always just block and walk in. If, say, Kitana is chucking Glaives at you, you block and walk.

What will happen is that the Kitana player will corner herself while you patiently move in.

How hard is any of this?

Right. That was a goof. I stand by the rest. I honestly think this stuff is getting overblown.

It's not like they can back dash, either. A zoner could walk or jump back, and Cage can handle that.

Right. I was a little confused by if he was saying Cage is using the breaker, or if the person he's attacked is using it.

Yes if I read a projectile I can shadow kick , but shadow kick can just as easily get baited. Not to mention that it is not a hard knock down , and they can now tech roll , and seeing as I have no stamina , I cannot chase them down.

It does matter that he has a floaty jump because it makes hm easier to anti air if my opponent baits my jump , you can bait sub and still not anti air him simply because his jump ins are so strong.

MB green balls being +4 will keep him safe , but I'm spending a bar to keep myself safe , instead of being able to build meter. Clearly not good for cage.

This PS4 US only and XBox region free does not look good for them removing Region lock huh?
It will be a welcome change if they removed it. Someone here played a match from over in London with someone in the US and said it was super smooth. No dropped inputs.
