Or maybe we can keep calm and realise the online beta is the older state of the game before it was released since they might have to re-code, I don't know.... the whole Fkin game.

wow the online is so fucking good, i played a guy in america with 3 bars (im in england) and it was the smoothest connection ive ever felt. its soooo fucking silky smooth, well done nrs
But isn't it showing actual ping time instead of bars?

Sure they can walk back (if they can) an instant air this and that, but the other player can advance, block, duck, jump, forward dash, teleport, use interactable, armor, space advancing strings, reversal special, etc
Nops, no one has stamina so no one can use interactables.

There is part of me that likes this mechanic, because this is how neutral should've been, both characters needed to feel the game reset back to neutral in order to one open the another one up, we all know it wasn't much of a case, Sonic Fox figure this out two weeks earlier before the game release, he came back running to everyone who broke out of his pressure on the fatal 8, there is also another part of me who doesn't like that much, due some characters being able to simply close distance insanely fast with their strings, or characters who have some retarded hitbox projectiles.

And these are IMO the characters that will have an advantage over the others, but its still a two edged blade, the first one that slips out during the cooldown time cannot break whatever its coming if he gets punished from a mistake.

The third part of me is wondering if this will make clutch moments more hype in tournaments, or more annoying to whoever is playing, i guess in the end we will find out.

I just hoped NRS didn't pulled the plug just yet, but i guess it has been decided considering MKXL is on its way.
 
@Eddy Wang yes thank you for the correction. Looking back at what I wrote at that point I was indeed discussing options right after a break with new features implemented. In my mind I meant options a rushdown could opt to use to get back in against zoners in general, not necessary what options they had right after a break.
 
I'm not entirely opposed to taking stam away from both characters... But why would it make sense to penalize a person for opening someone up? I suppose it wouldn't really be looked at as a penalty since both characters would truly be neutral following a breaker, which wasn't really true before.

What if *gasp* both players just kept their stam. ! Losing meter bars for the person breaking is enough of a penalty. Did anyone complain about the penalty for breaking in MK9? no? alright then.

Block breaker takes away a meter bar from the attacker? that one I'm not so sure I can get behind.

Clash suggestion - I'm in favor of anything and everything that makes this game feel nothing like injustice. The only thing they should have taken from that game happens to be the one thing they didn't. Throw teching.

so it seems like majority here are in favor of both players losing stamina for using breaker. lmao im just going to keep my actual comments about that to myself(because its nothing nice).

214 jails now breh hence why it's a buff. Also you can do 214 teleport 214 spear again, 2 Flame Auras per combo... Hellfire will be better. And if we're strictly talking about 214 string being nerfed ONLY for hellfire, 21 fbc 21 (if it jails now) will definitely be a buff as well. Current 214 is trash besides the minimal chip that you're arguing for.

No, 214 does not jail now, there is a backdashable or armorable gap between 21 and 4. Which is why it isn't a buff.

214 is not currently trash, it's a guaranteed 3 hits of chip totaling 4% at the end of every combo, into +8 and a mix-up. It's Hellfire's most important tool.

The most you are guaranteed now is 1.5% off 2 hits off chip.

21 FBC 21 will not jail now, as the change that allows 214 to jail is to the cancel advantage of that string.



Hellfire might be better as a whole, but that's to be seen, and I'll test out his buffs myself when I get the chance, and it's not something I'll make a statement on yet. However as far as his blockstring goes, the information is there, and it's extremely difficult to see it as a buff to that aspect of the character... it's basically the same except the gap is a crucial hit earlier. You keep going around in circles.
 
@Sultani In MK9 there was no run or interactables which definitely plays a hand in matches on MKX. Once a break happened in MK9 the advancer had to show more caution because it was not as easy to get in. MK9 had unlimited backdashing, dash canceling and invincible wakeups also to create space for A downed opponent which the oppressor had to respect mostly. What wake ups in MKX have this? Sonya's bake an wake, Cassie's EX nut punch, both rush down chars (maybe there's more but idk :) ) There was just more going for keep aways in MK9 so I believe that's why no one complained. If both just kept their stamina then how would that create a fair neutral for keepaways in this game? What's now to stop the rushdown from simply running back in or using environment/other options to close the gap again?

EDIT: Wanted to add yes its FULLY the responsibility of a zoner to keep a rusher out but the odds are more heavily against them in the current state.

when people say "feels like offline" is this an exaggeration? I mean, does a good connection actually respond like to the frame as far as combos go, will your character be doing what you tell him if you nail 2 frame links and shit? Or are people just buzzwording it up with this "feels like offline" but really just mean "barely any lag" instead of "no input lag at all"

The defender could still run. both could still use interactables. the defender could still backdash. A true neutral from full screen away with both characters having stamina... "What's to stop the attacker from just running back in?" well, what's different about a full screen neutral situation without a breaker being used? nothing. Same situation. Someome running at you isn't exclusive to post breaker

It feels like KI and skull girls. It's not offline...but it's as close as we could probably get.
