Hi totally nobby but can you tell me what numbers allocate to what button on the ps4? I wanna try all these but the numbers mess with my mind!
 
So, I haven't played this game in months. I just decided to hop in training and test some stuff out with some ideas I had. When did they change Mileena so you can't cancel F343 into TK anymore? Let's take one of the slowest start up overheads and big risk v reward combos and nerf it? what?

They took that out last patch.

So, I haven't played this game in months. I just decided to hop in training and test some stuff out with some ideas I had. When did they change Mileena so you can't cancel F343 into TK anymore? Let's take one of the slowest start up overheads and big risk v reward combos and nerf it? what?
The last big patch. Can only assume either they didnt want people being able to do 40% meterless or with giving F3 the ability to low crush they felt they had to take something away to compensate
 
But there ARE characters that still do 40%+ meterless midscreen. Scorpion, Ermac, Sonya, maybe more of them. Not that I'm very upset though, I prefer more viable tools over plain damage, but I'm still not sure what's their point nerfing this.

Indeed there are (Ravenous can also get 40%).This is why I believe the second reason I posted is the reason for the nerf. Scorpion's F2 got given the ability to low crush but his price for gaining that is that F2 now 2 frames slower. Obviously that nerf is nowhere near as bad as ours but for some reason it was felt that giving low crush to anyone had to come at a price. Maybe they were worried that a low crushing overhead that could do 43% meterless at the time was potentially too much? Idk, I am just guessing the thought process that helped come to this decision.

Look at the positive side: that nerf took away 2% midscreen damage from F3 combos of R and P, corner damage stays exactly the same. We got low crushing F3. F344 becomes safe on block but lost the ability to combo. And I'm pretty sure that Mileena can win without ever use F3 strings, they are horribly slow

A lot of her combos seem to have kinda rude gravity. I'm massively struggling with all of the combos that use air sai after B34 and I can't land B2,1,2+3 after u3MB. They are too far away or too low.

What is the exact issue you are having with the B34 xx sai combos?

I've givin up on trying to hit b34 air sai b21 2+4 consistently. It's to risky imo if it doesnt hit. It's either the b2 goes through the opponet or b2(1) doesnt connect. I just go for b12 1+3.

What is the exact issue you are having with the B34 xx sai combos?
In her bigger combos after the air sai I am unable to catch them in time with b212+4. It just falls short of either reach or range every time. Same with the big meter combos after U3MB it also falls short.

Ok, with B34 xx air sai into Sadistic Ways ender you have to do a run cancel. After Roll input B34 so it hits just as the body starts to descend. Air Sai at then will hit the opppnent at the highest possible point before you do a small run cancel into Sadistic Ways.

Below is a video by TakeAChance which basically showcases the B34 xx air sai combos. Skip to around 2mins to see the the combo with Sadistic Ways. Hope this helps

Thanks I'm starting to get it now, I still have a while ahead of me before I will be able to land them under pressure or online but I love the damage Mileena has with her sadistic ways basically saying: "fuck you scaling, I don't give a shit"!

Yeah I agree it's still very hard even after a LOT more practice I rarely land it and this is coming off Kenjutsu which has always had bonkers links.

It's just really fucking hard man. I had to practice it a ton and I still don't have it down more than 40%. The jumpkick into telekick combos are just as bad, lol. But they are max damage so it's good to have them down.

If you dropping the combo it is one of two things (unfortunately).

1. Not enough height on the opponent after air sai.

2. Running too far in the run cancel/input Sadistic Ways too late.

As for tips, follow the advice on the post and I guess look for visual cues in the video.

other things that may help is buffering the run when Mileena descends after throwing air sai. So when she lands she is instantly running. As for when to input Sadistic Ways, first maybe you can practice the following.

Dash forward and press block twice (so forward, forward, RT, RT). That will show you a run instantly cancelled into block. When you get that down as fast as you can pay attention to the stamina bar. The amount of stamina used in that instant run cancel block is very close to the amount of stamina used for run into Sadistic Ways. Use the timing learned from that to input Sadistic Ways after running.

It's a pretty specific timing but it's not too bad once you get used to it. The timing you're looking for is as you hit b34xxair sai the sai should hit just below them and leave the opponent floating slightly above the sai.

Then it's just a slight run cancel into b21 2+4. The important bit to practice is not letting the opponent drop too far before doing b34xxairsai.

anyone know how to get the most damage while ending with roll. i'm asking cus i like the hit adv when they get knocked down to follow up with f12 anywhere on screen
so far all i got is
starter -roll-jk-teleport-air sai-b12-roll
not optimal but it only looses about 3% than max damage

I think the timing for it has been altered since its no longer consistent, but you can do a jik~tele~air sai, run cancel~21u4 for 27% (I forget the damage)

Jik~tele~air sai, run cancel~b12, 1+3, dd2 restands them, leaves you at +13 hit advantage and does 30%
