Is Kombat Pack 2 imminent at Gamescom 2015!? - NRS announcement history and hint analysis.

Even though Sony is skipping out on a press conference this year for Gamescom, they are reported to have "some good stuff" coming from their Third Party Partners. This could mean we might be in for a surprise from NRS in the coming days, as they are Third Party Partners. Looking at NRS' announcement history, last year's Gamescom announcment after MKX's gameplay at E3 revealed Kano as the next playable character on August 11, 2014. Looking even farther back, Catwoman was also announced to be playable in Injustice on August 13th 2012 and after that NRS surprised us all with the announcement of Zatanna as DLC on August 7th 2013. History already looks to be repeating itself.

Now that EVO is over, and with the game still young this would be the perfect opportunity for a big reveal by NRS. Klassic stages were found to be inside the game's coding after Tremor was added and now that all the Ninjas have their klassic costumes, there is a chance we may receive klassic stages instead of costumes for upcoming patches, or we may finally be approaching the final costumes of the game as the game was stated to have "more costumes than MK9 but less than Injustice."

NRS themselves as thrown us hints via the last Kombat Kast constantly referring to the Kombat Pack as "Kombat Pack 1," as if they have another Kombat Pack planned and Ed Boon himself made multiple tweets a while ago mentioning a "story pack" and questioning if Tremor was the last character to be DLC by another tweet.

So what do you guys think? NRS has been quiet for a while regarding future plans for the game, this may be the time to get hyped once again.

I just want a netcode announcement.

But perhaps more to the point, I think it's more than likely they'll have a reveal by then. Many characters have in-game models (Sindel and Rain especially) and it wouldn't take much to get some early renders for a trailer or two. Personally I'd be pumped if there were NO guest characters this time around. I think it's safe to get hype for a reveal.

Since NRS has shown to have an ear to the ground consistently and with eventhubs recent poll, there's a huge amount of people that want Noob and smoke in the game. So with that in mind if they aren't in the game together as a variation swap thing then the ball has been dropped. Can't be picked up again.

I still feel like we'll only get 2 more characters ala Injustice. I'd love 4 more MK characters (no more bullshit guests, two is enough for this game). but I won't get my hopes up.

We all can have these big expectations, but reality always wins out. This is the likely scenario. You are correct.

"Story" talk is likely just that. Story Pack covering Fujin, Sindel, Baraka, and someone else, likely Rain due to his character model. Covers the female, the classic, the highly requested, and a ninja. Sounds about right.

As predictable as Raiden being the 3rd character announced way back when while people were tossing out all kinds of names.

I wouldn't make those choices, but they are likely what we'll hear soon.

I feel like NRS has been increasing the amount of DLC as they make more games to see how much people will buy it.

MK9- Four DLC characters

Injustice- Six DLC characters, over 9000 costume packs

Considering MKX is the highest selling game of 2015, it would be in Boon's best interest to release a second Kombat Pack, but only if Noob is in it
