Against most characters it becomes "pseud-safe" because most of their normal punishers are now out of reach, with Scorpion and a few others they can punish the fan toss like normal. Of course it had to be Scorpion.... god, I hate him.

Let me just be absolutely certain as to what you're talking about, by fan toss, you mean the projectile, DF1, right....? Scorpion can not punish that.

back dash spam fans, mix in throws and random b+2s and viola basic kitana

and use intractables to go jump super high and right over their head with float because that so fun to fuck with people

So is there any safe way to blow up Kitana? Feels like I'm playing against MvC2 Cable with all the holding up back and throwing shit across the screen. I play Sonya, Ermac, D'vorah and SZ. Haven't really gotten around to trying Ermac, but with the others, it feels like every match is just an endless trudge through fans. If I do get her in the corner, I have a good chance of taking the round, but every now and then I eat an ex butt and it's back to walking across the screen until we reach the other side. I'm so down with picking up a character just to counterpick her. Give me some dirt, folks.

You shouldn't be having trouble with D'Vorah or sub(GM)

Dvorah severely outfootsies her, has a better up close game and mixups. Just walk and duck the fans and you'll be fine. It gets tough for kitana once she gets in. I'm not saying dvorah bodies her or anything, but it's not an easy MU for kitana either.

Sub can slide under the fans with no problem. Ice clone tanks them. Ex ice ball plows thru them. Get the life lead and fall back. Kitana has no choice but to come to you at that point

Erron Black often got hit by fan when he tries to slide under it on reaction. I think that Sub's slide instantly lowers his hitbox, while EB's slide takes much longer to set him in ducking state.
D'vorah is such a pain to fight. She can get a full combo if trading with Kitana. Watch Honeybee vs SonicFox and learn from them.

Don't trade then, just jump backwards and forwards and throw fans before you land. You won't be able to just throw, throw, throw like usual but it'll piss of the D'vorah because she's looking for that trade.

Not sure how clear it was in my post, but that is my exact gameplan. The rushdown is working so so for me though, cause I keep trying to bait the whirlwind and everytime it's not baited she gets a backdash and then it's back into fans. Haven't had much luck with trades with D'vorah, but it's probably me needing to level up. I'll give GM SZ a spin next session.

Is there a motion to get her fan to come out instant in the air when coming off the ground?

Getting the d.1 after EX Fans is a pain, practice makes perfect!

its just up down right 1. Turn input short cuts on and you can get them to come out pretty quick

Not bad performance from both players but this match doesn't prove anything.
On a side note, I think this Quan played too defensively and wasted too many punish opportunities

I don't normally defensive but i never played this Kitana player before so tried to sus them out, if you know what i mean. I have another Quan video vs a Cassie/mileena coming out today :D if you want to see it that is

Is there any way to get the classic costume still with kitana without the Mobile game? can i get through the krypt?? I know there was a glitch with the leaderboards but that don't work no more right???

Alright, so I just got bodybagged by Starcharger (don't know his tag) and I'm looking for help vs Kitana. Recently picked up and am choosing to main Erron Black. Question is, does Kitana have ANYTHING that is punishable? It seems like every fan throw is safe, and that all the strings Star used were safe or plus. I got told to block, so I did, which opened me up to throws and getting zoned. What the hell beats Kitana? Anything at all? Figured I'd come here first so I can hear it from the actual Kit players.

Regular fans are like minus 8 on block, even if you can't punish you should at least get something after on block unless they back dash or armor, but all her armored moves are full combo punishable on block. Square wave, lift, rising fan, and throat slice. Ex fans are very safe/good though. It sounds like someone's getting away with stuff. Her down 1 has a lot of range, but it is eight frames, down 3 is meh, down 4 is okay. She probably does good againt Erron, but nothing unsafe sounds like someone's abusing online.

Maybe it's online, but I've never really had Kitana xp outside of Mournful. It didn't seem that I could punish her fans, but I'll lab it back. Is there anyone that beats her/does well against her? I'll keep practicing it with Erron but she just seems very strong overall.

Scorpion, Bone Shaper Shinnok, Sub-zero, D'vorah, Predator, Jax, Raiden are potential good picks, not saying they all beat her, but they definitely potentially give her a run for her money.
