I like the midscreen double b12u2 combo (especially since ending with ex shokan grab can net 40%!) but I find the timing to be so annoyingly strict!

Edit: However, whiffing the u2 is not as unsafe as I had originally thought either.. hrm.

Has anyone played around with whiffing the first hit of b12u2 in juggles?

It should reduce gravity allowing for different combos afterward, but I haven't been able to leverage it for any increased damage... some extra swag sure, but why make things more difficult for the same damage?

Yes. And it isn't worth it because the range and hitbox on the string is so tiny that whiffing the first hit means whiffing the second as well

b12u2 affects gravity relatively little in the grand scheme of things - I could maybe see not doing it to lower damage scaling because scaling is fucking nuts for Goro, but I don't believe it'd be particularly useful. If I can find a good use for it I'll be sure to post it though!

alright guys, what's your go to for njp starter combos?

I just labbed up

njp b2 run cancel f3 ex punchwalk shokan grab for 34 percent

anybody got anything better?

Has anything changed since day 1? I haven't learned a new combo with this character since forever.
toolkit wise, only that f4 is now overhead and combos in the corner

What combos have you been using? He seems pretty linear in terms of what you can and can't do as well as scaling

Corner I do, B12U1 B2 F4 3xEX PWLK D2 D1 SG 42% I think. You can ex it to put them in the corner.
seems like you're pretty well caught up damage wise, nrs fucked us because practically everything in combos is interchangeable and scales about the same

The only different stuff I ever do is ending in 112 so I can OTG ground pound

Was learning this in training mode and found that it also works with 3D3 in the corner.

3D3 xx Low fireball, D1, D1, B12 xx EN PW, F3 xx Shokan grab is 40%

It's actually possible to get 21 xx EX Punchwalk off of 3d3 xx Low Fireball.

IIRC it's 42% or something like that.

I have a hard time consistently landing these. How many D1 are we supposed to enter every time we land a low fireball, 3D3 or F4? It seems like two D1? Also, does the hitbox on 1 go lower than 2? Don't care about damage so much as I don't want to keep doing D1.
 
Who are this goro corner combos meant for, superhumans, aliens? This is just insane...no comment. Whoever is able to pull this of constantly is beyond my wildest imagination. I needed approximately 2 weeks to do all those combos and still can't do one. Plus I manage to do one in maybe 100 tryes.

This one I can connect no matter what:
F4~D1xxEX Punchwalk~NJP~F3xxGrab | 39%, 40% in fangs. The F3 at the end just doesn't connect I did it maybe a thousand times. Now I'm asking myself the question whether other fighting games combos this hard. I play sub zero and I can do all combos, but this command grab bullshit and 0,0000000000001 milisecond windows is truly driving me crazy. I'm completely exhausted mentally after cca 3 hours of trying to do this shit. F this game seriously...

ya i have trouble canceling in to the command grab off of f3, sometimes what helps me is really makes sure i'm pressing down back to start it, like really focus and press those buttons hard. when im in practice mode i usually find that when i whiff it's because i didn't input either down or back correctly.

Yeah I got you I found out that myself as well. But maybe you haven't understood my post correctly, it's not just f3 or anything into command grab that's giving me problems. It's any more complex 1 bar corner combos that's driving me crazy. I can usually do various 1 bar combos midscreen, even ending with a command grab (although very inconsistent), but I still can do those. But those corner 1 bar combos that are listed in the first page of this thread are just too hard for me to use on a constant basis. I do one here and there if I get VERY lucky, but it's not just f3 into grab.

Let's just look for example cancel windows on e.g. d1xxEXpunchwalk or connecting anything after f4 overhead in the corner. The timing for those things is very very strange, you basically have to wait for this crazy long f4 anymation to end and hit them with d1 in the very exact frame or
- it won't come out at all
- will whiff.
And if that wasn't too hard already you then have this 15 frame cancel window into EXbf4 which is just too hard for me to do with my thumb on a controller. I don't know maybe stick would be easier, but those are just a couple of examples. Of course I see most people playing goro don't even do those combos and use very simple bnb's instead. But still I admire anyone that is able to get those command grabs after f3 every time. Not even mentioning some cancels of off 3 in the corner...

EDIT no. 2: I apologize, it was my mistake. All the combos listed in the thread are indeed possible although some are very hard to do consistently. I needed a lot of time messing with different timings on those combos but I've managed to do all those at least once. So yeah all of them are possible I can die happily now lol. After all that messing around I finally got that feel how goro should be played. Basically link everything except B12U2 starter into EXpunchwalk. I think his best starters are: b12(u2), 21, 121, 212 (this seems like a very good dragon fangs exclusive), f3, b3 and perhaps f21 although this one seems a bit to slow to be really viable. And of course 3d3 and f4, especially in the corner.

Post patch KW Goro 47% damage combo.

Jp, b12u2, rc, b12u2, njp, f3, SG, exdd4.
I will never get to use this combo in a tournament. Goro getting a jump punch won't happen. I won't do the second b12u2 because it misses too often. That being said, Getting 40%+ shouldn't be a problem if you end in the throw. I won't do that too often either though since I don't want to gift wrap meter and give it to them.

you can use 4 instead of f3 and it scales exactly the same and it's esier to input.

Can anybody get above 42 in the corner with fangs? I'm hitting a wall there. The scaling is so real right now... If I ex the SG at the end i go from 42 to 43 lol wtf
