We could wait a bit longer before making any final decisions so we don't regret any specific changes.
We still have a few more patches left so I dont think it would hurt anything to tweak stuff before EVO. I think reducing the startup to ten frames would be more fair than twelve but we will see. As it stands she can get out of most pressure with ease.

But for real, my main concern is her inconsistencies. Nerf her all you want but at least make sure her other tools work correctly 100% of the time.

What is a shame is that one of the few characters in the game that is really different to play against will nerfed to the hilt. She will no doubt be nerfed to the point that she is useless ala Kano MK9. It seems that no one likes playing against any characters that play by different rules (eg Sub Zero) and rather than figure them out, people call to nerf them.

Oh well... at least we can go back to the arguments of how boring the game is because it rewards only one style of play.
I don't think this is ever the case. It's mainly when the developer makes ONE tool really strong, so strong that people barely have to use the other tools, that people complain.

How do you get around that? By putting several different tools relatively into balance, so that the character has a well-balanced playstyle.

Examples of this issue:
Vanilla MK9 Kano -- "KnifeKnifeKnifeKnifeKnifeKnifeKnifeUpball"
Vanilla Injustice Deathstroke -- "High guns, high guns, low gun, jumpback guns, high guns ex guns, machinegun, low guns, high guns, low guns, guns, lolmixup"
Injustice Superman -- "f23f23f23f23f23f"
Vanilla Injustce Scorpion -- "j3 teleport j1 teleport j1 j3 teleport teleport j3 tele hellfire"
Tanya -- "Teleport Teleport jump normal Teleport jump normal pressure Teleport Teleport Teleport EN Teleport"

Tanya actually has a lot of interesting tools, but you rarely get to see them since she's so busy teleporting 100% of the time.

Imo it has nothing to do with having a different playstyle, and everything to do with people preferring interesting and varied fighting game play, where players have to think -- as opposed to one tool dominating the matches because it's too extreme.

I'm a little salty that everyone called me bad when I mentioned one of these exact changes (and fixes to her strings) yesterday when dave mentions additional nerfs and it's reasonable though lol
It isn't. I don't agree with nerfs to ALL teleports nor 12 frames of startup. Only EX since it combos and 10 frames. Anything else is excessive imo. Especially when looking at some of the bs some of the other cast members have.

I think this is a direct result of Jason being trash DLC and Tanya actually being good, so she's the trend right now. Talk to me about nerfing Tanya after D'Vorah, Raiden, Erron, and Scorpion get some real nerfs first.

Raiden's fine now, option selects are the problem.

This is gonna turn into a Raiden thread which means it will inevitably turn into a Sub-Zero thread.
The only thing Unbreakable needs is make his Ice Aura capture airborne opponents on activation. That would give him an anti-air and might increase his BnB damage.

It won't be broken since it can only be used once every 10 seconds.

Give Unbreakable that and he would be extremely awesome.

If you remove invincibility, the startup shouldn't matter much.

DN needs the speed to function anyways.

Ex should remain the same with less + frames.

Honestly that would be fine but I'm still against any changes for a while.
