Who are the most Overrated and Underrated Characters in MKX?

So there's a lot of uplaying and downplaying of characters on these forums. The title is self explanatory, so let's get to the meat and potatoes. I guarantee plenty of salt in this thread or your money back.

Most Overrated:

Scorpion: Tons of cries for normalization of this character. I admit I was one of them. But how threatening is his vortex to you or his minions? Do you realize his overhead combo starter is 25 frames? You can react to it. You can completely negate his vortex. His minions can be properly guarded against as well. I believe as time moves on, this character will drop from his supposed top tier status.

Most Underrated:

There's a lot of characters who I feel are underrated, but I'll choose just one.

Takeda: So much complaining of how weak this character is. Well maybe not so much with his recent buffs. But still, I see Takeda as a very strong, very scary character. And I think Shirai Ryu is overshadowing the potential of his other variations, especially Lasher. As time moves on, I see this character rising in the tiers and doing very well in a lot more tournaments.

I can neither confirm nor deny this statement. I have yet to fight a hellfire where I didn't just block his run cancel strings until he ran out of stamina. Not scary to me. But I would be very interested seeing what hellfire can do at high level. It's probably one of the most, if not the most technical character in the game.

I could not agree more with Takeda being underrated especially after the hotfix. I have mained him since day one and I started using Lasher right before the hotfix and now I find myself using that more than Shirai Ryu.

You have to admit, the fact that he has two restanding stun moves is just a tad OP...

I would be very interested seeing what hellfire can do at high level.

The only way you'll enjoy this is if you're watching and not fighting against it.

Since I'm here I might as well follow the thread.

Overrated-

Sonya. She's good, but the Top 5 talk needs to stop. Punish her punishable normals and specials, make good reads against Covert Ops, very low damage in the other two. Sure she's low end Top 10, but surely not Top 5 with Raiden, QC, Scorpion, D'Vorah, Jin, Erron, and Jax running around.

Underrated-

Jax. Is there anything he doesn't have? 50/50 starters, mixups during block string, safest character in the game, strong footsies, strong zoning, strong anti-zoning, strong oki, strong WU's, high damage, strong corner game, 3 viable variations, etc etc etc. One of the most underrated characters in modern fighters.

Considering Scorpion as a whole, I don't like him, but I abhor Inferno.

Overated:scorpion-his inferno variation at first seems op but just look at his arm movements and you'll see how easy to block it is,and as for the other 2 and scorpion as a character is fine no nerfs needed as for buffs I can't say but I think he is balanced for now.


Underated:Kotal Kahn-My main since day one never had a problem once,all my losses were my fault.Kotal in a whole is very solid war god of course is his most dominate variation with a 50/50 then a fake 50/50 into unblockable then MB overhead into solid damage....just scary.Then you have sun god and blood god which were good and with the recent hotfix to them both has now made Kotal an even bigger contender overall underated yes,slept on definitely.

Overrated: Sub zero, maybe I haven't fought a good one but I've never really had much trouble with them but everyone was raving how good he was for a while.

underrated: Shinnok, not sure if there is much complaining still after his fixes but he was crapped all over when the game first came out, now he's a real pain to deal with some of his pressure and strings.

because we have an accurate tier list yet right? as soon as people will look past the obvious other chars will become viable. kotal, lao, jason and ferra torr have given examples.
