I love Kitana
From a Royal Storm perspective what are her safe pokes tools, go to launchers , mixups? I know this is primarily a zone kitana i just want to know what everyone is using.
 
Just wait it out. I was frustrated at first as well then I realized that ice balls don't chip. The moment they realize that the matchup changes. They either start rushing in or start trying to throw the clones instead but the initial part is waiting them out showing that you aren't falling for their gimmick. From there well placed fans and reflects take care of the rest

each move/string starts with f1.
why each one of them has different startup? wtf? which one is correct?
The frame data pertains to the first, second, third, etc. hit of the string. For example, the f1 in what you have above is 14 frames. The second group is referring to the second hit of the string, meaning f11. The second 1 of that string is 7 frames. Hope that makes sense :)

And @Konqrr, when I see you guys referring to d1 on hit gimmicks do you mean the way Kitana can do an instant jump 2 and land it on the opponent? I just want to make sure I'm following the right logic.

Hey guys,

First time poster/former lurker here.

I made an account to post a video of a bug I encountered with Kitana's parry in the assasin variation. The bug specifically occurs when Kitana does a combo string that is blocked then cancelled into parry, in which if the opponent retaliates with a throw, they are able to block the parry follow-up animation and even punish Kitana as a result.

This bug only seems to occur with throws, but not anything else. However, there could be other specific instances. Hopefully this can get a fix.

Depends on your variation but yes that would work. I tend to do EX throat slice as its a hard knockdown and spaces me to throw meaty fans. If you feel they will slide on wakeup because they are expecting a fan you could use Fan-nado instead but not sure how good that is in assassin as it doesn't zone

I'd rather just block it and go for a combo instead, assassin's version isn't that good at all and call be used as a very situational anti air but other then that it's just combo filler

Yeah slide is very punishable on block but if they have meter that punish could not happen but it wouldn't necessarily leave you in a bad position as he'd burn the bar and stamina. I definitely suggest royal storm in this match up though as in that situation he can't break out of your combo and you would get a free 26 to 30 percent, depending on if you use bar etc

Kitana's ij2 is going to be the move that saves us. It allows us to punish things that she can't reach with her other normals for 42% meterless.

One example is Kano d4~ knife in cybernetic. It is-11, but too far away. Ij2 punishes it.

Are you jumping in, or just neutral jumping? I can't seem to get a NJP to connect, but jumping in works

What combo are you doing to get the 42%? I can only get a 11 to connect off of the ij2, I'm not sure on the rest of the combo progression though.

What I like to do is EX assassin strike on reaction to ice ball while play assassin. In royal storm you can easily reflect it back at him to break the clone but if he reads it he can punish with slide or a delayed iceball. Don't forget a reversal fan or EX throat slice will punish him if he cancels into clone. From a block string.
